Unrest in Pakistan Setback for Terror War
(Full Story)

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- A week of unprecedented urban fighting in the wild tribal belt of North Waziristan has left scores dead and forced thousands to flee their homes, raising the stakes in Pakistan's war on Islamic militancy along the Afghan border.

A jumbled alliance of foreign militants, local tribesmen and Islamic students eager for jihad have stepped up resistance in a region where the army already claims to have wiped out al-Qaida as a viable fighting force.

The unrest, brewing for months, is a setback to the U.S.-led war on terror. Further hampering that effort are deteriorating relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan over Afghan claims that Taliban leader Mullah Omar is hiding in Pakistan and suicide bombers are training here.

Blackstone teens charged with breaking in water tower

Snip: Tests found no contamination in the town’s water, officials said yesterday, as two 15-year-old Blackstone boys were charged as felons for causing a scare by allegedly breaking into a 4-month-old water tower.

Because town officials spent a day flushing out the water system, a boil order yesterday replaced the previous no water use order. The boil order is meant to kill off any E. coli or other bacteria that seeps into the system, Town Administrator Raymond Houle said.

Huge bomb-making operation busted

Albert Lea, Minnesota

Authorities in Albert Lea say they have uncovered a major bomb making operation, after two explosions in the area during a five-day period.

Police executed a search warrant at a home in Frost, MN Tuesday night, where they found so many explosives they had to call the Bloomington bomb squad.

Neighbors were evacuated, but one says she just thought the suspects were playing with fireworks.

”They were getting increasingly loud and smoky, but nothing that would be tremble the earth,” says neighbor Corrine Johnson.

Police arrested four members of the Yahnke family for the operation – Marvin Yahnke, 49, Shirly Yahnke, 38, Daniel Yahnke, 19, and a 15-year-old juvenile.

Authorities seized more than 20 pounds of highly explosive material, as well as more than 100 explosive devices.

“In my 20 years in law enforcement, I have never seen an operation this large,” said Chief Dwaine Winkels of the Albert Lea Police Department.

Are American Companies Aiding Islam? Because it sure looks that way

If you were a securities company who actually lost employees in the WTC September 11, you would jump at the chance to support a symposium on terrorism, right? How about if you were a major airplane manufacturer who watched helplessly as four planes you might have had a hand in crafting disintegrated on television? Or maybe a supplier of weapons for the law enforcement who bravely and selflessly ran into those burning buildings? Surely companies such as these would recognize the need for such a symposium, and quickly respond to requests for support, right?

Wrong. Very, very, wrong. Welcome back, sleeping giant.

There’s a saying that goes, “If you’re not for us, you’re against us.” It’s not just the leaders of nations who have said it, God Himself stated something similar when He made it clear that there is no fence-sitting with Him; that if you’re not on His side, you are indeed on the devil’s side; you can’t serve both God and Mammon. In the battle zone called Earth where He sent us to learn, surely choosing sides has never been more important than it is now.

So why are so many American businesses choosing the side of Islam? And more importantly, why aren’t we—as their customers, their bottom line, their paychecks—screaming bloody murder at their apparent choice?
