"Few go to your hayseed states and those that do think the locals are brain dead."

And we make fun of you every chance we get, which is all too often for my tastes. I wish I had a nickel for every moronic question I had to answer from some yankee-asshole tourist like you. Showing up in your rental cars with shorts pulled up to your armpits. Lily white legs blinding me while your damn fanny-packs jingles as you walk my way to ask if we have dishes made with soy products while you look over your terminator sunglasses at me.

You pronounce everything wrong. A pecan is not a can you sit by the bed at night so you don't have to go all the way to the bathroom. And what is it with you people and one way sighns? Can't you read? Should we change it to "This way, Jerk" to make you feel more at home?

So yeah, us hatseeds will keep our good, abundant, reasonably-priced land. We will keep out low cost of living and low real estate prices. We will keep the warm sunny weather and our beautiful 9 months of green trees, grass and beautiful foliage.

You can have the smog, bums and overcrowding. We are grateful.

That was the biggest I could find on the beach. I just have to go to a bigger beach.

I have never heard "Joisey" said here either. Some New Yorkers may pronounce it that way, but I have not heard it in this state as of yet. Maybe it's a Jersey City thing? I don't know.

Oh that is a shellsuit? Those are tacky!

Absolutely agreed!

That is what they wear on the Sopranoes? What on earth did they base that show on?

That's what I was thinking. It sounds like the exaggerated East End Kids city accents from years ago. I don't even think NYers talk like that anymore.

I've never heard ANYONE in NJ say Joisey. In what part of the state do they supposedly say it that way?

I lived in Bergen County for almost thirty years before I plotted and successfully executed my escape, and yeah, I've never heard anyone in NJ say "Joisey" either. Maybe it's the dialect of some small tribe in Bayonne or something. I have no idea. It wasn't anything I ever heard around my part of the state.

When will people understand that there are certain parts of the country have WINTER WEATHER and certain parts that have SUMMER weather? NJ isn't BAD because it only has 3 mos of summer. That's what makes it so desireable when spring approaches and the warm air reminds us that summer beach, ocean and sand is on the way. Why would you live ina winter climate if all you want is sunshine? Why would you live in sunshine all the time when you want cooler temps? Even in winter climes...the weather people and the news people always talk about snow coming like it is something UNUSUAL. It's WINTER FOR HEAVEN'S SAKES. Then come summer all we hear is it's soooooooooooo hot. I say make a decision and move to where you wont' gripe about the cold or the heat.

Sorry folks...didn't mean to rag but jsut so exhausted hearing all the complaints. So, everyone should go where they want to cold or hot but remember to expect cold or hot.

Hi FlipWilson-

You're 100% correct about the Corzine election. My guess is that many people are such knuckleheads they voted for the name they remembered seeing on the signs along the roadways. Corzine had zillions of dollars to spend on those things...and RINO Forrester's green and gray scheme didn't exactly boost candidate recognition.

It will be an uphill struggle before the residents of this state recognize what they are doing to themselves in terms of lost liberties, sprawl, and liveability. Stick with calling it New Jersey or NJ, it's more becoming of you.

I hope so. Because your state was basically the laughing stock of the world for a while there. You're government made fools of themselves, and pretty much created a serious hassle for the rest of us. Try to get your act together.

Me neither. By the way I remember when we used to have parades and seems Bayonne, always won the comp for the best bands.

Quote: "And yes, if you think NJ is such an awful place to live, then please move yourself and the other ingrates like you, back from whence you came. We don't need you and we don't want you.

Nobody begged you to come to NJ and I have a feeling your kind wouldn't be missed."

Excuse me if you can't take a joke. It really didn't matter what "dialect" you speak, I was more responding to your "tough guy" if you don't like it, then leave comment.

Sure, I'll move out and take my vote with me. That way, you can attract more lefties to the state. You not only need me on that wall pal, you want me on that wall. I also live in Somerset County and, at least, am trying like all hell to change things. You seem to be looking at the state of things in NJ with rose colored glasses. Namely, "oh, this state is just the bestest and nothing needs to be done. If you don't like it, leave it!!" My frustration comes from the fact that places like Somerset County are steadily, inexorably moving to the left. If you aren't already, you should get involved and find out.

Sorry to butt in, but he's not correct. 6 of 10 people voted for Corzine. My congressman has a 100 ACU rating. NJ has a lot of good people.

Larry left Bob and is now playing with Phil Lesh....he is an excellent player, top notch.
Back to the issue at hand.....I haven't been to Jersey in years. When I grew up in CT we would totally make fun of NJ. But honestly, there is a reason it is called the Garden State, like anywhere else,as soon as you get out of the urban sprawl it is a nice place. I live in Marin County now, north of SF. The weather and landscape is pretty nice, the traffic and cost of living sucks.... You need to make your priorities, for me weather is important. The people are nuts out here!

Stake my future on a hell of a past
Looks like tomorrow is coming on fast
Ain't complaining 'bout what I got
Seen better times, but who has not?

NJ it is. 6 of 10 is still quite a majority in any election. Yes, there are may good people in NJ, but they are not enough to save the State. Like it or not, we are heading down the inexorable path of Californiaism. When Florio raised taxes he faced an out and out rebellion. I have to wonder if Corzine would face the same consequences today if he did the same thing?
