As the war in Iraq grinds into its fourth year, a growing proportion of Americans are expressing unfavorable views of Islam, and a majority now say that Muslims are disproportionately prone to violence, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
The poll found that nearly half of Americans -- 46 percent -- have a negative view of Islam, seven percentage points higher than in the tense months after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, when Muslims were often targeted for violence.
Conservative and liberal experts said Americans' attitudes about Islam are fueled in part by political statements and media reports that focus almost solely on the actions of Muslim extremists.
According to the poll, the proportion of Americans who believe that Islam helps to stoke violence against non-Muslims has more than doubled since the attacks, from 14 percent in January 2002 to 33 percent today.

If Methodists were cutting off heads, kidnapping people, and blowing up innocent women and children I suspect their popularity would drop too. I am amazed that only 46% have a negative view of Muslims.
Islam's problem is that there are no moderates around to clean up Islam's current irresponsible behavior.

Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their belief systems.
I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.
After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.
When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked, "Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world. And, that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?"
There was no disagreement with my statements and without hesitation, he replied, "Non-believers!"
I responded, "So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can go to Heaven. Is that correct?"
The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
He sheepishly replied, "Yes."
I then stated, "Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope John Paul commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering Protestants to do the same in order to go to Heaven!"
The Imam was speechless.
I continued, "I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me. Let me ask you a question. Would you rather have your Allah who tells you to kill me in order to go to Heaven or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to Heaven and He wants you to be with me?"
You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame. Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the 'Diversification' training seminar were not happy with Rick's way of dealing with the Islamic, Imam and exposing the truth about the Muslim's beliefs.
I think everyone in the US should be required to read this, but with the liberal justice system, liberal media, and the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized.

A Muslim rape epidemic in sweeping over Europe -- and over many other nations host to immigrants from the Islamic world. The direct connection between the rapes and Islam is irrefutable, as Muslims are significantly overrepresented among convicted rapists and rape suspects. The Muslim perpetrators themselves boast that there crime is justified since their victims were, among other things, not properly veiled.--That symposium is actually worth a thread. One of the things the MSM refuses to print is that many of these women are tortured and sexually humiliated prior to and during the rapes that often last for hours. The police often refuse to investigate because in Australia for instance, the police themselves are threatened with the rape of females in their own family. Because no will round up the suspects, they are further emboldened. Send this article to a prosecutor in Detroit or New Jersey and they will arrest you for dissemination of hate literature.
Western civilization cannot tolerate- or survive- giving a pass to this sort of savage behaviour.

My negative perception of islam can't go any further negatively.

Essentially, in Islam, the radical interpretation is the correct and orthodox one, which is why "moderate" Muslims are considered heretics and regularly overrun and stomped out by the crazies. This has happened consistently, since the founding of that demonic "religion."
Immediately after 9/11, I too thought it would be possible for moderates to get their cult under control. But I no longer think so, partially because of the daily violent behavior of Muslims throughout the world, and partially because I began to read more about Islam and found that this has been its pattern for 1400 years.
So count me in as one whose perception is a lot more negative than it was 5 years ago; in fact, my perception is now 100% negative, and I think we're entering a war where only one of us is going to survive. And I sure hope it's not them.
