New York Times About To Reveal Even More Top Secret Operational Data! Big Benefit To Terrorists
Sources in New York and drudge ^ | MB26

Breaking – Proven reliable sources tell me that in tomorrow morning's edition of the NYT, the leftist paper will reveal that DOD has embedded military rapid reaction teams at a number of US embassies abroad.

The Times is again giving our enemies hard intel they need to be more effective on the worldwide terrorism battlefield.

The concept was very simple; When we got intel that known terrs were operating in a specific area, the US team already in place would be able to snatch them quickly. Because the team is already there, entry problems would be eliminated and reaction time would be much faster. Terrs know how long it takes to get a Delta/SEAL/Snakeeater team out of US or forward area bases and into operational areas, so they know how long they can stay in an area themselves.

Under the new "pre-placement" plan, the reaction time was reduced from days to minutes.

I don't have full details yet, but sources believe not all countries where "pre-placed" teams are located knew they were there. In fact, majority of countries probably did not know small teams of our troops were ready to operate on their ground. Is assumed there were there under civilian cover or perhaps listed as part of the USMC security detachment.

The idea was simple. The snatches would be quick and quiet. Terrs would be removed to other country, possibly Guantanimo, often using business jets borrowed from legitimate US companies, and no one would ever know how or why they disappeared.

Now, thanks to NYT, all is blown!

So actually, Drudge is the first set of loose lips. What a dope. I hope the gov goes after him. He should have let the Times be in the cross hairs.

This is a time of war, why can't they be reeled in?

At the minimum, the NYT should be relieved of their press credentials for ALL U.S. government entities.

Loose lips sink ships applies here.

I suppose now congress will have to get involved and it will be 45 days...

There are members in congress who are trying to get a shield law to protect these traitors in the press

Wait a minute. YOU posted it, not the Times. Why not sit on it? There is no good reason to have posted this.

Yeah. That makes it OK.

Maybe you should have WAITED to see if the SLIMES reported this first??

The obvious question is WHY did you "SCOOP" the Times?

The blame goes to both if it's classified info. I don't buy the thing about someone else printing it.

Good thing I didn't donate to the RNC tonight when they called. This is the kind of unchecked garbage the GOP doesn't deserve even a $1 for. (I gave the guy on the phone an earful why I wasn't going to donate).

I'm withholding donations until the GOP will start going after these treasonous bastards.

The NY Times stinks, to be sure, but this isn't that damaging.

Perhaps... but who is it helping?

I hope they will be prosecuted for their crime, because it is a crime. Looks like the Bush adminstration is finally getting serious about this, and they have to be. This revealing of highly classified information, which undermines national security, must stop.

White House trains efforts on media leaks. Bush administration targets sources, reporters under espionage laws

The Bush administration, seeking to limit leaks of classified information, has launched initiatives targeting journalists and their possible government sources. The efforts include several FBI probes, a polygraph investigation inside the CIA and a warning from the Justice Department that reporters could be prosecuted under espionage laws.

In a little-noticed case in California, FBI agents from Los Angeles have already contacted reporters at the Sacramento Bee about stories published in July that were based on sealed court documents related to a terrorism case in Lodi, according to the newspaper.

Disclosing classified information without authorization has long been against the law, yet such leaks are one of the realities of life in Washington -- accounting for much of the back-channel conversation that goes on daily among journalists, policy intellectuals, and current and former government officials.

The Justice Department also argued in a court filing last month that reporters can be prosecuted under the 1917 Espionage Act for receiving and publishing classified information.

Unless the 'leak' was intentional and part of a deliberate disinformation campaign. We are in a war and you have to assume, on both sides, most of what you read is disinformation.

Has anyone given any thought to the fact that this might be a set up to find the leaker?
