New York Times About To Reveal Even More Top Secret Operational Data! Big Benefit To Terrorists
Sources in New York and drudge ^ | MB26

Breaking – Proven reliable sources tell me that in tomorrow morning's edition of the NYT, the leftist paper will reveal that DOD has embedded military rapid reaction teams at a number of US embassies abroad.

The Times is again giving our enemies hard intel they need to be more effective on the worldwide terrorism battlefield.

The concept was very simple; When we got intel that known terrs were operating in a specific area, the US team already in place would be able to snatch them quickly. Because the team is already there, entry problems would be eliminated and reaction time would be much faster. Terrs know how long it takes to get a Delta/SEAL/Snakeeater team out of US or forward area bases and into operational areas, so they know how long they can stay in an area themselves.

Under the new "pre-placement" plan, the reaction time was reduced from days to minutes.

I don't have full details yet, but sources believe not all countries where "pre-placed" teams are located knew they were there. In fact, majority of countries probably did not know small teams of our troops were ready to operate on their ground. Is assumed there were there under civilian cover or perhaps listed as part of the USMC security detachment.

The idea was simple. The snatches would be quick and quiet. Terrs would be removed to other country, possibly Guantanimo, often using business jets borrowed from legitimate US companies, and no one would ever know how or why they disappeared.

Now, thanks to NYT, all is blown!

Thanks! :-)

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean. I've been in the middle of those things, myself. LOL

Gonzales is pretty fired up about all of the leaks and wants action! You can bet that THAT came from THE TOP! I really DO believe that the president is now taking the white gloves off.

Yes, Oasis and another n00b troll gone; two down, one still to go, on this thread.

The good news is that if it appears in the New York Times, it's presumptively false, so the terrorists can't rely on this information.

Agreed regarding the WOT. I'm trying to go IA duty once another guy checks in, June or July. This Sailor wants to stand in the sand and do his part. After 25 years and 12 cruises on carriers, it is time for a change.

Doesn't change my belief that this is too "rich" for yet another leak. Someone, somewhere, would take offense at getting our SPECOPs folks exposed and perhaps act. Scary as that may be it would be a justifiable extra-Constitutianal action in my mind.

Crap! I've just asked for even more flames, but must get ready for bed. It is a "school" night for me, after all. I'll respond tomorrow.

ROTFLOL....did your mother never scold you about "what's lung is on tongue"? Or did you just tune her out?

Good luck and my prayers, should you be deployed.

NYT Sues Pentagon

Boldly asserting that it has not yet done enough to "unmask the horrors of the Bush Regime," the New York Times has sued the U.S. Defense Department, demanding that it hand over documents about the National Security Agency's domestic spying program.

The Times wants a list of documents including all internal memos and e-mails about the program. It also seeks the names of the people or groups identified by it. "The covert nature of this program gives the U.S. an unfair advantage against its technologically deprived adversaries," Times spokesman, Andy Busch. "We're not taking sides in this conflict. We just want to see a more level playing field."

Last December, the Times broke the story that the NSA had begun intercepting domestic communications linked to al Qaeda following the September 11 attacks. That provoked renewed criticism of the way U.S. President George Bush is handling his war on terrorism.

The Times had requested the documents under the Freedom of Information Act, but is dissatisfied with the Pentagon's response that the request was "being processed as quickly as possible."

Franklin Lyman, a lawyer for the Times, acknowledged that the list of documents sought was lengthy but that the Pentagon failed to use the words "unusual circumstances," a provision of the law that would grant the Pentagon extra time to respond.

"There is much classified information that has yet to be brought to the attention of the public," said Lyman. "Keeping secrets is profoundly undemocratic. This case gives us the opportunity to pull back the veil concealing the Bush Administration's tactics in this so-called 'war.'"

And by withholding donations from the GOP you make it more likely that the Demoncrats will win ... and you think they're going to do a better job at anything involving our security? Just whack off that nose to spite your face!

At some point voting for/supporting the lessor of two evils, still gets you bad government, although never as much of it as you pay for.

If the NYT was really a threat to our country and releasing classified information that could damage us, our President would surely shut them down and have them prosecuted as traitors.

Unless and until that happens, it seems more likely that the NYT is trying to create a perception on behalf of the government.

Not a nice article. It makes each and every employee at any State Department faclity suspect and encourages our enemies to target the US.

Iran long ago make our embassy's their primary target and have engaged in a covert war and used proxy organizations against the USA.

This article is pure BS as the US would never violate diplomacy by using it as a military garrison. There are just certain things diplomatically impossible and this is one of them.

Leftists and Liberals always try to destroy the legimaticy of any POWER they want to destroy. It looks like the Liberals are out to vilify the State Department while venting their hatred of the Miliary.

Looks like the CIA is trying to show the Bush administration who's boss. They don't like Rumsfield setting up his own operations (because he can't trust them), so they subvert them by going to the press and revealing our tactics to our enemies.

Now, the terrorists not only know we have teams in country, they have just been told that they are holed up at the embassies, dramtically compromising the safety of every embassy worker's life in every country we have them.

I will be very surprised if these actions do not result in attacks on our embassies, damaged relations with innumerable countries, and compromised operations, either current, or planned. I pray any team members on assignment don't find out that their position has been compromised the hard way

The animosity between our own intelligence agencies that will develop over this is too staggering to contemplate.

Our enemies have got to be laughing their asses off right about now.
