New York Times About To Reveal Even More Top Secret Operational Data! Big Benefit To Terrorists
Sources in New York and drudge ^ | MB26

Posted on 03/07/2006 7:27:01 PM PST by MindBender26

Breaking – Proven reliable sources tell me that in tomorrow morning's edition of the NYT, the leftist paper will reveal that DOD has embedded military rapid reaction teams at a number of US embassies abroad.

The Times is again giving our enemies hard intel they need to be more effective on the worldwide terrorism battlefield.

The concept was very simple; When we got intel that known terrs were operating in a specific area, the US team already in place would be able to snatch them quickly. Because the team is already there, entry problems would be eliminated and reaction time would be much faster. Terrs know how long it takes to get a Delta/SEAL/Snakeeater team out of US or forward area bases and into operational areas, so they know how long they can stay in an area themselves.

Under the new "pre-placement" plan, the reaction time was reduced from days to minutes.

I don't have full details yet, but sources believe not all countries where "pre-placed" teams are located knew they were there. In fact, majority of countries probably did not know small teams of our troops were ready to operate on their ground. Is assumed there were there under civilian cover or perhaps listed as part of the USMC security detachment.

The idea was simple. The snatches would be quick and quiet. Terrs would be removed to other country, possibly Guantanimo, often using business jets borrowed from legitimate US companies, and no one would ever know how or why they disappeared.

Now, thanks to NYT, all is blown!

It is also worse than FOOLISH, to publish this, though.

And by withholding donations from the GOP you make it more likely that the Demoncrats will win

It's called teaching them a lesson. It's my way of protesting the party I belong to. They begged me to donate $250. I look at it this way, I'm not short $250. It's my money. I will do with it as I please.

Until they can demonstrate they have the cajones to stand up against the Democrats at the most opportune times, instead of aligning with the Democrats at every turn, or running to the tall grass when Democrats whisper the word "impeachment", acting like they belong in the minority they will not get a dime from me.

They want to hide and run scared? Fine, I want no part in it.

Can we expect that the newspapers and leftists in Europe will call for a European Union investigation of American "death squads" being concealed in US Embassys?

Probably. And there is the rub

It IS much more palatable than someone leaking a true ongoing operation. One can hope this is the beginning of the "plug application" to one leak source.

If a NYT reporter could find this, another news agency could have too.

So what's your point? I could make exact duplicates of Big Macs at home, but that doesn't put the Golden Arches in front of my house.

As the American "paper of record", the Times has a responsibility to set an example for other "news agencies".

And that includes not treating information of this sort like the Pentagon Papers. This New York Times would have leaked the invasion plans in 1944.

And another possibility....tell this to a select few, and poof! you've discovered your leak when it appears in the press. Maybe a disinformation tactic?

that would be one sweet operation - hope that's the sting - and that they catch 'em and hussle them off to an unknown location - never to be seen or heard from again -

that'd put the fear of God into the rest of 'em :O)

"Nah - This is a great plan and this NYT story will do nothing to make it less effective."

Devsix, you are exactly right here. Although the NYT's should be prosecuted for disclosing classified information (again), the fact that this information was made public really doesn't hurt this initiative. In fact, it may help. It is common knowledge that embassies are operations centers for spies. Yet that doesn't keep the people who work there from being some of our most effective humint sources. Now, terrorist organizations operating in every country in the world must be concerned they will be "taken out" without warning. Their operations will need to be even more covert which will complicate their operations and reduce their effectiveness. I know this wasn't the NYT's intent, but this helps almost as much as it hurts.

The publishing of this has changed your mind about the times and drudge in what way? None!

and it has changed our enemy's minds about our soldiers in what way? None. This is inflammatory journalism designed to sell papers

New York Times About To Reveal Even More Top Secret Operational Data!

Before you two get all hot and bothered about the New York Slimes, take things in proper priority:

1] First, be outraged that Bush and his justice department does not go after the scum who leak information. Bush failed to go after Scumbag, Reno, Sandy Berger and other criminals for crimes far beyond leaks. Bush and his AG refuse to go after those leaking classified info as well. Be outraged at Bush for playing kissy face with Scumbag and other criminals.

2] Second, only after those leaking info are strung up, and only after Bush stops his wimpy ways, then bitch about the Slimes.

Good conservatives should always think and act in proper priority sequence.

I like your shorthand: "4F'd" :)

And it looks so innocuous. ;)

Speaking of Romania, I just read this, posted by 'Panerai':

U.S. can launch attacks from Romanian bases
