New York Times About To Reveal Even More Top Secret Operational Data! Big Benefit To Terrorists
Sources in New York and drudge ^ | MB26

Breaking – Proven reliable sources tell me that in tomorrow morning's edition of the NYT, the leftist paper will reveal that DOD has embedded military rapid reaction teams at a number of US embassies abroad.

The Times is again giving our enemies hard intel they need to be more effective on the worldwide terrorism battlefield.

The concept was very simple; When we got intel that known terrs were operating in a specific area, the US team already in place would be able to snatch them quickly. Because the team is already there, entry problems would be eliminated and reaction time would be much faster. Terrs know how long it takes to get a Delta/SEAL/Snakeeater team out of US or forward area bases and into operational areas, so they know how long they can stay in an area themselves.

Under the new "pre-placement" plan, the reaction time was reduced from days to minutes.

I don't have full details yet, but sources believe not all countries where "pre-placed" teams are located knew they were there. In fact, majority of countries probably did not know small teams of our troops were ready to operate on their ground. Is assumed there were there under civilian cover or perhaps listed as part of the USMC security detachment.

The idea was simple. The snatches would be quick and quiet. Terrs would be removed to other country, possibly Guantanimo, often using business jets borrowed from legitimate US companies, and no one would ever know how or why they disappeared.

Now, thanks to NYT, all is blown!

If there weren't any knee-jerk, misinformed and uninformed reactions, it wouldn't be FR.

...out on a limb; devil's advocate--take your pick. But consider:

Maybe this isn't a leak that is meant to hurt CINC, but rather a leak meant to intimidate our enemy. If they think we have SPECOPs in every embassy, ready to strike or snatch evil doers as required, when in fact we have them in only a few locations--would that make them more apt to lay low and hide? Or maybe figure we are on to them and somehow make a mistake and expose themselves sooner?

Not in any way meant to defend the NYT, just thinking maybe there is a plan after all.

Flame away...I've got a few minutes. :)

This should bump Bush's poll numbers up about 10 points.

At this point Jorge has me so pi$$ed I really don't care if he is polling less than ten percent.

And another possibility....tell this to a select few, and poof! you've discovered your leak when it appears in the press. Maybe a disinformation tactic?

CIA, State, or DIA. All Marxist cesspools thanks to Carter and Clintoon. Too bad that decimation has fallen out of favor.

Can we expect that the newspapers and leftists in Europe will call for a European Union investigation of American "death squads" being concealed in US Embassys?

There is something strange about this. Not any no comments or the like from CIA, State Department but they did give the thumbs up in principle.

If the WH is serious about identifying the network of government officials the will start planting stories. Notice the leak came from other parts of the government that don't agree with the plan. I am not discounting the possibility that some were briefed on a nonexistent program.

"But it has drawn opposition from traditional intelligence agencies like the C.I.A., where some officials have viewed it as a provocative expansion into what has been their turf. "

Ah, that would be the same CIA that did such a fine job on pinpointing Iraq's WMD's and anticipating the provocative expansion of binLaden and alQaeda throughout the nineties, right? Yeah, they got that turf covered just fine.

But it has drawn opposition from traditional intelligence agencies like the C.I.A.,... Ahhhhh, I wonder where this leak came from?

Good catch. Aldrich Ames is doing life because he went to the trouble to deliver his secrets directly to his handler. The preferred way is to let the Times publish it, then you can sit back and relax, and your handler can read the very same information with his morning coffee.

This is a problem for counter-intel, and seriously, the guys involved should be 4F'd ("find, fix, finish and follow-up" see post 146) all the way to those secret Romanian jails they keep leaking and writing about.

Hey np, the Houston Chronicle just called Tom Delay the winner of the R Primary in Texas. He's got 65% of the vote in a 3-way race.

Nancy Pelosi weeps tonight.
