FREDERICK, Maryland (AP) -- Hood College is reviewing its homecoming rules after a lesbian was crowned king, a college official said. Jennifer Jones, the 21-year-old senior who beat out three men for the honor, said the crowning was a positive step for the private liberal arts college. "It is cool that Hood allows people to be themselves," Jones told The Frederick News-Post. "If people didn't want me to be king, they wouldn't have nominated me and voted for me."

"It's not-so-good to be the king."
As long as it's a lesbian voted in as king, that's fine by me. Just don't try to mock tradition by voting in a straight female as king!
As for Homecoming Queen...
So, it's one more quaint little tradition flushed down the toilet.
This must be SO SPECIAL for the queen...
"They have this "vote" and the fraternity prank crowd and gender activists vote for the girl."
Yeah, I remember Homecoming queens and Kings when I was in college. I have no memory of an election.
No pictures, please.
At Hood it's not a tradition. It's only the second or third Homecoming election.
Having attended this pit briefly, I'm not surprised.
So, can a gay guy be the gueen. Wouldn't that be a funny royal dance? Neither one actually prefers the opposite sex.
Having seen them, no, you really don't want pictures.
"She" is not, by her own definition, a she any longer. "She" is an imitation man.
Else why should "she" seek the appellation "king", and not simply "royal despot"?
Very few people "vote" for these things. There's probably a table in the quad and nobody bothers with it.
OK, so why can't guys try out for the girls crew or tennis teams?
It would be interesting if she receives some benefit (financial or otherwise) by being a woman...
Guys running for and winning Homecoming Queen was all the rahe in the late 70s and early 80s.
This is no big deal.
Yeah, since when are royalty elected? I figure that prom king or queen would be a hereditary title. Which would seem to eliminate the possibility of a homosexual becoming prom king or queen.
Hmmm...
The Tsunami of sludge never stops.
"There's no objective reality - you are what you say you are! Tra la!"
Only problem is the huge numbers of ruined lives.
As far as I know, she needs to grow a pair of nads to be a king. Until then, she is still a queen in king's clothing.
