Why not major in Bestiality with a minor in Abortion? This is absurd for a Catholic university. These administrators either agree with this trend or have no cojones. Either way how would they explain this to the Pope?
Seriously. How long does it take a professor at a Catholic college to wrap up the whole Queer Studies program?

There is nothing wrong with things like "Women's studies" or even "Queer Studies" (just not at a Catholic institution) as a minor. That's part of the experience of a liberal arts education as opposed to a University. The problem is when wingnuts make these subjects their primary course of studies.

Good point. I was assuming a full degree.
I know in the physics department at Georgia Tech it didn't cost much for a professor to put together a new concentration or minor. usually just one or two new classes and a collection of existing classes.

It's not just that it's useless, it's academic claptrap. It's not even "studies", it accepts no point of view other than the prevailing one, completely political and if yours is that point of view, no paper will ever be rejected.
It's not clear whether the course entitled "Bareback Mounting" is an elective or a required course. "Catholic" colleges, hell, "Catholic" schools in general really don't exist any more. Today, they're nothing more than expensive private schools with crucifixes out front.
Oh yes there is something wrong with it. It is academic fraud, pure and simple.

Academic demand to teach a subject is such a good reason to come up with a major, isn't it? By that standard, we'll get a Liberalism major, a Communism major, well, I can't think of any more since the rest of other useless majors are already there. That's just it - it's not academic but political. It's a statement made by liberal elites that they are more worldly and educated than the Church that effectively employs them. The Left continually looks for ways to attack such conservative institutions.

If the Catholic church would actually do something to remove pedophiles and homosexuals from the priesthood, you might have something to complain about.
