Lost in the tumult over Islamic port deals and Katrina video capers is the recently released -- and willfully ignored -- Barrett Report. David Barrett, you'll recall, is the independent counsel appointed in 1995 to investigate allegations of impropriety against President Clinton's Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros. Mr. Barrett found his path mined by the Justice Department, the Internal Revenue Service and President Clinton's attorneys, even after Mr. Clinton departed the White House. He prepared 18 felony indictments against Mr. Cisneros but had to settle for a guilty plea on a misdemeanor charge (lying to the FBI about his mistress, a poor choice for a tax write-off). He sought to prosecute Mr. Cisneros for tax fraud over a period of years but was thwarted by Attorney General Janet Reno. Ultimately Mr. Cisneros resigned his post, whereupon President Clinton, constitutionally bound to men who lie about their mistresses, pardoned him.

Entirely agreed. If the DemonRats can leak vital national security information with impunity, our people should have the stones to leak non-classified information that could save the country from having the Witch as President.
Because they're playing the game too.
The was a Bush cover-up as after the dims tore up gov't offices before turning all over--W didn't prosecute the actors!
old news .... move on
It was a Bush cover-up and, sadly, it became the template for all of the other cover Bush has given the Clintons.
Yeah, move on, that's what the these criminals want. Should we also "move on" concerning other criminals?
I am afraid this is not a case of Republican vs. Democrat, but one of "ruling class vs. the unwashed masses". I am really not holding my breath for an elected official, of either party to rat on another politician. In this respect, there appears to be not a dime's worth of difference between the current administration and the past one.
Cynism and defeatism is our enemy. Very unReaganesque.
Stalwart Republican Charles Grassley punted when he could have released the entire document on his web page.
Watch your back Mark and keep out of private jets.
Maybe the truth will come out someday.
Reality is not the enemy.
BTT!
Clinton must have dirt on both Bush presidents.
Hey Russert - are you going to ask anyone about this? How about you, Chrissy Matthews? Will you ask Maureen Dowd or EJ Dionne what they think?
How about you, Mr. Stephanopolous? Maybe you can ask someone after you get new lifts for your shoes.
Isn't that title redundant?
And socialists/communists/liberals/homosexuals and 53 million John Kerry voters love them. Go figure why this country is going down the toilet so quickly.
:-) Thanks, maggief!
And......... nothing on the release of the Barrett report, to this very day.
