Thanks for posting the review. Krauthammer at his best. Guess I will skip the POS and re-watch Tears of the Sun, Black Hawk Down or the truly great We Were Soldiers with Mel Gibson -- Anything that reinforces the notion that there is good and there is evil and for the vast majority of the time we are the good guys - regardless of what the likes of Clooney think.

Mark Simone on wabc radio wanted to know, what does the category,
Best Sound, really mean?
"Gee, Fred, I really liked the movie, especially the sound!"

For a while, the gown (or lack thereof) competition was the most interesting -- to see which 'star' would show up with the most bizarre or weird or outlandish gown. Then they got to be less and less material. I think the Academy finally passed a law that stated that all gowns must be contain at least 3 threads. Anything less would be considered indecent.

The favorite for best movie fits the theme of the Academy Awards being a Hollywood movie industry circle jerk.

"After the Oscars they'll come out with their usual proclamation that "A record 725 billion housesholds watched this yea's Oscars" announcement."
I don't think so. I think the headline will be that only 725 people WATCHED the show, and then the msm will whine about how backwards and homophobic the other 50 million people are. They've put themselves in a win/win situation as far as promoting their agenda.

I got out of the Navy in January 1973. That year I'm pretty sure I watched the Oscars. I'm pretty sure they bored the bejeebers out of me. I guaran - darn - tee you I haven't watched them since then. I'd love to boycott, but it would not be much of a statement.

So, are we boycotting the Oscars or is this the Oscars Live Thread? I believe this is the official "I'm not going to watch this CR*P!" thread.

I'm watching TV Land. Their having a weekend long marathon of
The Andy Griffith Show. TV worth watching.
Entertainment that reinforced social norms and values. Gee, how old fashioned that sounds..."tough!".

I am not going near the TV tonight and will learn who wins from Drudge. I would rather watch Paris Hilton than the Oscars.
