Mohammed Reza Taheriazar, lone jihadist
New details from ABC 11 in Raleigh, N.C., about the Muslim man who plowed into students on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus today:
The driver of an SUV that plowed into a group of pedestrians at UNC-Chapel Hill on Friday told police it was retribution for the treatment of Muslims around the world, according to ABC News.
It happened around noon Friday in front of Lenoir Hall on the campus, in a common area known as the Pit. Paramedics took six people to UNC Hospitals. Five had been released by Friday evening and the sixth was not expected to be admitted.
Officials say none of the people were seriously injured. Three refused treatment at the scene.
Chapel Hill police say they arrested the suspect, Mohammed Reza Taheriazar, 23, of Chapel Hill, shortly after the incident. Several witnesses were able to give police the rented Jeep Cherokee's license plate number.
Police said they would charge Taheriazar, a psychology major who graduated from UNC last semester, with several counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
...Sources say Taheriazar told police he was seeking retribution for the treatment of Muslims around the world, according to ABC News justice correspondent Pierre Thomas. Taheriazar apparently told police he tried to rent the biggest SUV he could find to use in the attack.
By Friday afternoon, a police SWAT team had surrounded a Carrboro apartment complex where Taheriazar reportedly lived.
Taheriazar is a native of Iran and a December 2005 UNC graduate, according to the Raleigh News and Observer.
Bob Owens is updating the story.
Glad you liked it - feel free to share it!
Can you imagine what a complete list of examples starting from 630AD would look like?!
There have been a lot of in-fighting at news outlets these days, very curious - you'd think there wasn't enough happening in the world for them to report on.
Heaven forbid they might stumble onto and actually report some actual facts!
This is why islam and socialist liberals find so much in common with each other. Narcissism, the inability to see beyond oneself. Sociopathy at the social level.
How else can Che and USSR hammer and sickle stickers and clothing be so popular at liberal schools and universities? My 'intercultural communications' teacher keeps a poster of Che Guevera on her office wall as inspiration.
Again, feel free to pass it around! Glad you enjoyed it. I wonder what Jay Bennish would make of it? Hah! Perhaps he would prefer dhimmitude to life under President Bush...
Yep, it's a great letter, keep spreading the news...
Now if only we couls get them to teach this at 10 grade geography class! :^)
Thanks for all of your posts, links and information that you provide.
"Intercultural Communications" LMAO...
I wonder if combat is a part of that class. LOL
Just one more reason why "Gen Ed" components to most degree programs are worthless. Just about everything anyone could possibly have learned, and so much more, is now available at one's fingertips and without all the biased BS of the teachers' takes on things too.
I wonder how long it is before what employers want from prospective employees focuses more on actual knowledge in the specific discipline vice a diploma that merely stands for the fact that one's patience is sound for having to sit through inordinate amounts of bullitsh for weeks and months on end for years at a time.
Would we have enough space?
Yes, I remember hating him (Greg Jarette) intensely during the 2000 "contested" post-election period. I think he was on MSNBC, which I watched because I so detest CNN. Then FoxNews became available, and I was gone from MSNBC forever. So when Geraldo and Jarette began showing up on FoxNews I began wondering how long this refuge would last.
I smell an insanity defense!
No, I don't think he's legally insane. But that won't stop him from trying. Especially in Chapel Hill.
Just wait 'till the "ACLU" and CAIR get in the act!
It may be time for a blog and forum driven news show.
I'm much more interested in 'understanding' than a letter grade.
While many of my teachers (which have all been liberal women so far) seem to have some knowledge of their subject, they don't seem to have much understanding of them.
But really, if I want to do something besides wash dishes or ask people if they would like fries with that, what am I to do?
Actually, this is the very reason I'm in university, to bring about that change - I have some very good ideas which, if properly implemented, will bring sanity back into civilization, bringing all religions into healthy and balanced alignment (they're all saying the same thing, using different "terms of the art", bring religion, science, politics and even political parties - within and between every nation - into a balanced and proper alignment (yes, this is possible - when correctly understood and implemented they don't conflict with each other).
I'm there (at university) to develop the skills to communicate and implement these ideas in a clear and unambiguous manner.
In fact, I would like to form a school for this very purpose - but I'm no (sane) George Soros who can afford to just start building.
Very informative post. Thanks.
Do you by chance have a link? I was interested in seeing the links to which he refers at the end of the letter.
