The Multi-National Force (MNF) on Friday announced it is investigating reports on Abu Mosab Al-Zarqawi's arrest nearby Fallujah.

An MNF officer did not confirm or deny the arrest, noting that the US forces are still investigating the reports.

Meanwhile, an MNF major said the force, based upon intelligence reports, executed Monday a number of arrest operations 45 kilometers northeast of Fallujah to capture key Al-Qaeda officials, Al-Zarqawi's assistants, and others involved in providing logistic support for foreign fighters and suicide attackers in Fallujah and Ramadi.

The major added that 61 people were arrested in the operation, which was announced before, among them were major Al-Qaeda leaders in Iraq, while quantities of weapons and ammunitions were seized and destroyed in the operation.

Meanwhile, sources in the Iraqi Army said that Al-Zarqawi could be among those arrested in the operation on Monday.

I doubt he would be willing to be captured. I assume he would kill himself first.

Cowards die a thousand deaths, but they don't kill themselves.

Even if he is captured or killed... the MSM will say it's not him.

Well they are salivating over a hoped for civil war and that anticipated "BIG BANG" being rumored. Right now it is difficult to separate the mindset of killer terrorists and our liberal media.

I see no difference... both want to destroy what I hold dear.

It could be real, but there's no talk about it among the Iraqis.

Strange...

I wasn't around much over the weekend. This thread went dead pretty quickly. Was this rumor ever dismissed by a government entity, or did it just fade away?

I want him alive. At least until we find out how much he can endure.

It seems like it was never even much of a rumor. The KUNA article came out, Roggio picked it up, and everyone else seemed to be silent about it. From what Allegra said, even the Iraqi's were not buzzing about it. I have to wonder how KUNA got the story, and why they published it. Weird.

I assume there was nothing to it in the first place. If there is any substance to the story I would have expected the Iraqi's to have gotten some inkling, and I would have expected , by now, some discernable twitching (if not spasms) in AQI as well.

Fifth or sixth time he has been arrested isnt it?

Lots of look-alikes.

Either that or he has a good bail bondsman.
