Huh? Now we want to revert back to slavery? You're using my modifying clause to attack me. The subject of the sentence is the relationship that existed between master and slave. It was rarely whips and chains.
My gripe with you guys is the myth you want to promote that there was some fundamental difference between the North and the South over the morality of slavery. The difference was the economics of it.
since you routinely post things that EVERYONE "with a brain" laughs AT the ignorance & foolishness of, that just seems fair.

I also expect Israel to start hoisting the swastica flag about the same time.

You can only be talking about the central power and tariff grabbers in Washington and the Northeast. The Constitution is a contract between the people and the government. The monument at the courthouse square in my small Georgia town attests that those in Washington violated that contract. IOW those in Washington DESTROYED the marvelous constitution and got away with it.

Your silly argument ignores the FACT that the federal government was under the control of the South or Southern sympathizers for its entire existence until the election of 1860. Even then Lincoln only won because the Slavers decided they wanted a good excuse to rebel and made sure the Democrat Party was split into three sections. Abe only got 38% of the vote and had no intention of freeing the slaves without a constitutional amendment.
But that did not stop the Slavers from pretending otherwise and attacking the forces of the United States.

No, but it was white southerners looking at black southerners as fit for nothing but servitude. As something less than human. To be bought and sold at will, with no more thought that selling a table or a cow. Try and pretty it up all you wish, you can't deny the underlying sentiment.

The difference is that men like Robert Lee and Thomas Jackson and Jefferson Davis saw the morality of slavery and men like Abraham Lincoln and William Seward did not.
The Tenth amendment has NOTHING to do with any right of secession and is not a self destruction button for the Union.
There were NO states until the Congress ordered them be formed. There were only ex-colonies. But there was an American People which formed the Union and the states.

I don't know why you are picking a fight with me..? I don't expect black folks to start 'demanding' that the Confderate battle flag be reinstated back on Amherst' cymbol, but I do know that it is simple fact (and a proud one that Amherst was instrumental in Confederate Rebellion from a Tyrannous USA (at that time ;). I also know that the "flag" as seen by most southerners is n'not' a symbol of hatred, but one of pride. It was only the KKK and later raceist (polarized) south of the 20th that created opression and raceism a symbol of the Confederate flag! And as terrible as slavery is/was (and most people 99.9% in the south) are abhored by slavery..and it WAS a terrible system, but that doesn't mean that you forget history, and that includes the Confederacy..! (BTW I hope you aren't one of those individuals who equates the Civil War=Slavery). It wasn't, it was about the right of states to remain sovereign of the Federal government. Look where that has gotten us...
And if you want to continue this argument...then get over it (and yourself) because I am not raceist neither are most white people (or black people) who live in the South today. My point was, is that most people down south are good ole, Christian, moral, polite, conservative (despite their party affiliation) folk!..And I would add ESPECIALLY THOSE that LIVE in AMHERST co!

Nobody has appointed or electe me captain of anything. We're a pretty independent crew. As for being smarter than the rest I wouldn't sign on to that, I've seen stuff from Ditto and x and just about everybody else that puts my poor contributions to shame.
