You can only be talking about the central power and tariff grabbers in Washington and the Northeast. The Constitution is a contract between the people and the government. The monument at the courthouse square in my small Georgia town attests that those in Washington violated that contract. IOW those in Washington DESTROYED the marvelous constitution and got away with it.
Your silly argument ignores the FACT that the federal government was under the control of the South or Southern sympathizers for its entire existence until the election of 1860. Even then Lincoln only won because the Slavers decided they wanted a good excuse to rebel and made sure the Democrat Party was split into three sections. Abe only got 38% of the vote and had no intention of freeing the slaves without a constitutional amendment.
But that did not stop the Slavers from pretending otherwise and attacking the forces of the United States.
