I yeah I am going to hold my breath waiting for the Black folk in the county to demand putting the symbol of their oppression and misery back in the seal. Surely all the descendents of the slaves of lovable Ole Massa will do no less.
I also expect Israel to start hoisting the swastica flag about the same time.
I don't know why you are picking a fight with me..? I don't expect black folks to start 'demanding' that the Confderate battle flag be reinstated back on Amherst' cymbol, but I do know that it is simple fact (and a proud one that Amherst was instrumental in Confederate Rebellion from a Tyrannous USA (at that time ;). I also know that the "flag" as seen by most southerners is n'not' a symbol of hatred, but one of pride. It was only the KKK and later raceist (polarized) south of the 20th that created opression and raceism a symbol of the Confederate flag! And as terrible as slavery is/was (and most people 99.9% in the south) are abhored by slavery..and it WAS a terrible system, but that doesn't mean that you forget history, and that includes the Confederacy..! (BTW I hope you aren't one of those individuals who equates the Civil War=Slavery). It wasn't, it was about the right of states to remain sovereign of the Federal government. Look where that has gotten us...
And if you want to continue this argument...then get over it (and yourself) because I am not raceist neither are most white people (or black people) who live in the South today. My point was, is that most people down south are good ole, Christian, moral, polite, conservative (despite their party affiliation) folk!..And I would add ESPECIALLY THOSE that LIVE in AMHERST co!
