Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. "Wear Red" Friday

You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

tonight is the first of the pirogi/fish fry Lenten dinners in NE Ohio. Most of the Catholic churches have them weekly on Fri during lent. Home made pirogi, extra stuff.. & some sell wine/beer!.

Re: the pledge... maybe I am drawn to it because of the asymmetrical lines & maybe just because it is "different" from the norm that we mostly do. I do like it! LOTS

I just made mom a sandwich that I hope she will like.. saute shredded corned beef with the jarred garlic(she likes a LOT of garlic for the taste as well as the natural antibiotic attributes)...in butter. Melt atop natural baby swiss. Put on flax seed toasted bread with stadium mustard & romaine greens.

Unfortunately I NEED to sleep but am pretty wired. ever get that way?

The President, and all our troops,

Those Bull-headed opponents,
Don’t like all of us “Reds”,
They moan that he was “Chosen!”
By Us! You dunderheads!

When you analyze the voting,
Localities make it clear,
Although some cities have the Blues,
The Red zone’s full of cheer.

So I’ll be wearing Red for sure,
It’s not a Star-Trek plot.
Their Red shirts spelled Security.
I’ll throw in with that lot!

Let’s push a little harder,
The next time that we choose.
I’d like a map that shows Red land,
And oceans for the Blues.

The Lefties are sad cases,
With strangely mixed-up heads.
They thought they stole our gay delight*,
But they’ve now lost their “Reds!”
