Brit Hume Barbeques AP, The Left, for Katrina Lies (Dinosaur media death bellow)
Fox News | 3/2/06

Posted on 03/02/2006 5:00:32 PM PST by pabianice

In case you missed it, Brit Hume and his panel incinerated the Dinosaur Pres tonight on "Fox Evening News" regarding the "new secret tapes that prove Bush wanted to kill black people in New Orleans."

The Left's Lies In order:

1. The "confidential tapes" breathlessly released yesterday by Al Prazeera are nothing of the sort. They were released to the entire press last August. AP has simply lied, again.

2. The NOAA weatherman on film said that there was a "20% chance the levees might be topped." Not, desroyed, topped. No one expected the levees would be breached.

3. Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin are noted to be profusely thanking Bush for his attention to the storm and his promised help. The lie that they were never informed or promised help is one of the Left's most loathsome lies.

4. Brown says over and over again how much he thanks Bush for his hands-on, hour-by-hour attention to the approaching storm, and Bush's promise to give the Gulf states whatever help they request (they didn't request help until too late, but somehow that's Bush's fault, too).

5. Brown notes that the Civics Domr is 12 feet below sea level and he doubts it can serve as a shelter for NO residents. In response, neither Blanco nor Nagin have a clue or any idea at all what to do. Somehow it's all Bush's responsibility.

6. Harry Reid is shown today blaming Bush for conscientious neglect and suggests that Bush wanted to kill black people/Democrats. This speaks for itself.

Of course, not one word of 1-5 will appear in the New York Whore of the Boston Fishwrap. but it is satisfying to see Fox do its job as a news organization.

"Brit is the consummate journalist, tough, incisive, thoughtful questions, and he's the finest anchor I've ever seen.---------"

Dittos to that!

When he announces his panel, I hold my breath and when Charles Krauthammer is on, I breathe easily. Another fine mind. I like to see him patiently listen to the jabber of others, before he gets his turn. Having Sammon on tonight was a plus. Another good intelligent, thinking man.

Thanks for this. I heard him at the top of his hour with the teaser to stay tuned for, then had to go to my daughters function at the school. I'm glad he trounced the MSM. He also said something about somebody being named something and you wouldn't believe it or who. What was that about?

Brit can rant all he wants, the panel can go on and on, who cares! There aren't enough people that watch this show to make any difference at all.

I believe this statement is very incorrect! You may be correct that this administration could use better PR, but we have seen Bush make mincemeat of the MSM many times. If you had listened carefully to Bush's comments on the 'selected' piece of video shown, he did not say anything wrong! He said 'we would help before and after the storm with what we had'. This so-called expose` is ridiculous. Even if they did warn this was going to be a huge storm; you and those making the prediction had no idea of the magnitude of Katrina. People who have lived through many hurricanes didn't realize the damage and destruction Katrina was to bring. There is no way to know exactly what these storms will do. You can't blame the Bush Administration for the failures of Gov. Blanco and the Mayor of New Orleans.

Bush will not be running for office in November, and some people might find these charges by the MSM (and your predictions) too absurd to deserve an explanation. I, for one, am getting tired of the MSM and the DemoRats coming up with the most ridiculous charges they can manufacture to destroy this administration. Bush is not perfect, but he's a helluva lot better than the alternative!

The Left needs to make up its mind about its conspiracy theories. Was Bush *told* the levees were in danger of being breached, or did he send his black ops to dynamite the levees? Get it straight, people! The Left never knows how to do conspiracy theories right.

And then, and only then, it would have been justified.

Just watched the Hume panel segment from the TiVo, this should be required watching for anyone who believes this latest media madness on Bush and Katrina. Does anyone have a video clip of this segment?

"E. Clay Shaw, a South Fla. Congressman from the 22nd District"

Thats the one that was talked about in the show.

It was brought up that the reason that Shaw is against the ports deal is because a FLA. company stood to make a bunch of money if the other company that bid on the deal got the contract.
Shaw is just paying back favors for campaign donations.

Bingo...If one is listening carefully....how many voters are listening closely? Most people don't have time to set around and dissect a news report. Bush has to get out there, with all the mud being thrown against the wall unanswered something will stick.

bush's response to katrina was not slow at all in fact:

Jason van Steenwyk is a Florida Army National Guardsman who has been mobilized six times for hurricane relief. He notes that:

"The federal government pretty much met its standard time lines, but the volume of support provided during the 72-96 hour was unprecedented. The federal response here was faster than Hugo, faster than Andrew, faster than Iniki, faster than Francine and Jeanne."

For instance, it took five days for National Guard troops to arrive in strength on the scene in Homestead, Fla. after Hurricane Andrew hit in 1992. But after Katrina, there was a significant National Guard presence in the afflicted region in three.

______________

also it was certainly faster than clintons none response to the heat wave that affected chicago in july 1995 which caused the deaths of over 1000 human beings all of which were thrown like garbage into a mass grave, since they consister mostly of teh very poor and homeless.

funny I don't recall the press getting to worked up about this.

As I stated in another post, the old media would die a quicker death if the Bush people get on the ball. One - in the press briefing room, start inviting reporters in from Town Hall, Human Events, World Net Daily, Power Blogs, Free Republic, Little Green Footballs, etc. Two - rearrange the seating so the old media is placed in the back and the new media is placed in the front. Three - every and all interviews given by everyone connected in the administration should be on talk radio and FNC - period! Arrange to go on Rush, the G Man, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin. Then start hitting the little local markets. Hell, even O'Reilly would give a better forum to these guys than PBS or the others would. If you want to talk to the people, go to where the people are listening and talking. Just my little rant for the day because I know it will never happen.

The two token libs were Kondracke and Nina Easton of the Boston Globe. Sammon - there I spelled his name correctly - laid it out simple and true. The old media committed journalistic fraud and after he laid out the facts of the case, Mort and Nina bent over backwards to defend the old media. Brit sided with Sammon.

I second your motion. Also, on Saturday nights around 2300, Paul Gigot has a new show called The Journel. It is very good. No loud talking, points being made and discussed. Sounds like adults talking. Wait a minute! It is adults talking! Seriously, try to catch it if you haven't yet.
