In case you missed it, Brit Hume and his panel incinerated the Dinosaur Pres tonight on "Fox Evening News" regarding the "new secret tapes that prove Bush wanted to kill black people in New Orleans."
The Left's Lies In order:
1. The "confidential tapes" breathlessly released yesterday by Al Prazeera are nothing of the sort. They were released to the entire press last August. AP has simply lied, again.
2. The NOAA weatherman on film said that there was a "20% chance the levees might be topped." Not, desroyed, topped. No one expected the levees would be breached.
3. Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagin are noted to be profusely thanking Bush for his attention to the storm and his promised help. The lie that they were never informed or promised help is one of the Left's most loathsome lies.
4. Brown says over and over again how much he thanks Bush for his hands-on, hour-by-hour attention to the approaching storm, and Bush's promise to give the Gulf states whatever help they request (they didn't request help until too late, but somehow that's Bush's fault, too).
5. Brown notes that the Civics Domr is 12 feet below sea level and he doubts it can serve as a shelter for NO residents. In response, neither Blanco nor Nagin have a clue or any idea at all what to do. Somehow it's all Bush's responsibility.
6. Harry Reid is shown today blaming Bush for conscientious neglect and suggests that Bush wanted to kill black people/Democrats. This speaks for itself.
Of course, not one word of 1-5 will appear in the New York Whore of the Boston Fishwrap. but it is satisfying to see Fox do its job as a news organization.
**Who was the token liberal, Mara? **
Nina Easton, but Mort was off to the left too. Brit backed him into a corner.
Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and idiotic reactions like this bill will end up on the congressional cutting room floor, so to speak.
But I've learned not to expect much leadership from Republicans in general. Except the Bush administration of course.
I have never watched him be a talking head, just read his stuff and watched him be interviewed. He was excellent, as good as I've seen, to the point, informative, and clear. He called the story journalistice fraud, and explained why it was a story that made up and manipulated facts to say something that was untrue. He was really great.
Oh yeah, Nina. Mort says whatever he's paid to say, I've decided.
Thanks for starting this thread...
I think that since Brit Hume's show is the ONLY show that is MUST SEE TV every day...
there should be a Brit Show thread every night...start to finish...not just on topics like tonights.
What do you think?
bump
Oh yeah, Sammon is good. The President has a nickname for him (which I also can't recall tonight, must be having senior moments!)....something to do with his height, he's a pretty tall guy.
"Ol' Super Stretch Sammon accused the AP of "journalistic fraud" and "disingenuousness."
Well that's PRETTY good, but if I remember my Strunk and White "Elements of Style" correctly it is always best to be as direct and succinct as possible.
Why not:
They lied. They lie regularly. They lie with utmost arrogance.
Brit is the consummate journalist, tough, incisive, thoughtful questions, and he's the finest anchor I've ever seen. It's the only tv news show I try to watch.
Thanks for that report, we missed it.
Where is Clay Shaw from? Never heard of him.
Well....yeah. Freepers are great at live threads and as you say Brit's show is THE one to watch. It's actually the only FoxNews show we watch around here anymore.
Brit ought to watch FoxNews sometime. They are almost as bad.
Besides, I bet Brit (and others on the panel) would get a kick out of knowing there's a live thread, might even check it out sometimes. Like Tony does.
Dick needs to take Pat huntin.
Well, it is as "must see tv" as it gets. And if you can't see it, you ought to be able to hear about it. Some of us can't stay awake until 11pm. We would have to find someone who isn't already multi-tasking all over the place though :)
Too bad he can't be hired as a spokesman by the Bush administration.
