Whose children will be allowed to participate in the White Houses annual Easter Egg Roll on April 17? Not the sons and daughters of gay parents, if the Christian right gets its way.
In November, when the Family Pride Coalition, a D.C.-based gay rights advocacy group, invited its members to participate in one of the great traditions of our country the religious right sprang into action. The Institute on Religion and Democracy, a religious think tank, accused the Family Pride Coalition of trying to exploit a childrens event for political purposes. Even the White House has weighed in.
~~snip~~
The Christian right blogosphere is afire, condemning the presence of gay parents on the White House lawn as nearly terrorist threats from the homo lobby. One post suggests that White House psychologists should be deployed to help the children of gay parents and implies that they are molested in their homes. Another wishes the gays good luck, reminding readers that the Secret Service carries automatic weapons.
Such posts are, of course, those of the individual posters to http://www.FreeRepublic.com, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of its operators. The site claims 200,000 registered members, known as Freepers, and a daily readership of tens of thousands. Free Republic, founded in 1996, has been embraced by right-wing social conservatives as the online water cooler for patriots who are biased toward God, country, family, liberty and freedom.
Or at least liberty and freedom for some. These lowlife scum should just be mowed down like terrorists, writes one good Christian.

Can I ask a naieve question. What is Free Republic. I see it is not a blog. What do we call it other then home?
Hmmmm.... Nice try, but "mow 'em down like terrorists" is just a bit harsh. You really need to learn to pick your battles; and for those you do pick, you really need to think up more convincing arguments.
thanks
Do you have a verifiable source for this fantastic claim?
One has to right and one has to be wrong...right?
It's because they don't list same sex abuse unless the perp identifies as homosexual which flies in the face of the definition of homosexual. i.e. same-sex attraction
As per usual for the homosexual agenda defenders, you're here to defend the "honor" of your friends who practice perversion. Your kind are a broken record around here.
Homosexuality is defined by the behavior. If they practice homosexual behavior they are homosexual regardless of their 'orientation'. If they do not practice homosexual behavior they are not homosexual regardless of their 'orientation'
This is why I seldom use the term homosexual to describe a person. There is no such thing as a homosexual person. There are people who suffer from the mental disease known as homosexuality but these people are simply mentally ill heterosexuals.
That fact remains that around or upwards of 35% of child molestation is same sex.
Covered in Leviticus 18 and 21. Of course being Christians we'd rather see them saved and changed but that still doesn't stop us from feeling badly about them sometimes.
Alright! Which one of you spilled the beans to the press!
They are talking about us - PING
;-)
Are you going to post those made up "FBI statistics"? A few posters have asked you for sources and you are conveniently ignoring their queries.
You're famous.....
Check this out!
Actually I suggest you learn to mind your own business if you cannot handle the facts. Don't remember anyone appointing you to any position of judgment or authority over Free Republic. If you object to the rhetoric sent your way, don't dish it out.
Then if you do choose to object, have the bare minimum of intellectual honesty to completely and factually quote it, not lie by omission by misquoting and misrepresenting the statements. A lie is still a lie even when dressed up in self righteous, holier then thou, pompous posturing.
This thread contains links to the offending thread, as well as several postings of the entire comment.
Call us back when you've done your homework.
I know it's not me... There are no typos in it!
Well, technically... uh... how... never mind.
It is a news forum. At least when I joined that was the name that everyone called it. A blog is much different, being a sort of chronological journal. I mean nothing negative toward FR, but there is a big difference. As Wikipedia says:
"An internet forum is not a blog (technically speaking), but a blog can function as an internet forum. Internet forums typically allow any user to post (into the discussion). Blogs typically limit posting to the blogger or to the blogger and approved others."
I love the story of Mad Mo on your FReeper home page. Was laughing out loud as I read certin passages. Nice work!!
I don't know of any of the threads I frequent that would allow talk like that. I think we would zot them as a troll.
I don't have the time to go through past posting looking for those type of comments.
I know full well I have read plenty of "I wish fags would just die and go away" and "fags will burn in hell" and the like. Some of it sounds like that maniac minister who is disrupting funerals with his "God hates fags" blather.
If you really have not seen anything like that on FR - then you haven't looked very hard.
Hmmmm.... This from a man who by his own admission does not even know the facts of the post in question.
Don't remember anyone appointing you to any position of judgment or authority over Free Republic.
Oh, I wouldn't want to intrude on your territory ... please, please forgive my transgression! LOL!
Then if you do choose to object, have the bare minimum of intellectual honesty to completely and factually quote it, not lie by omission by misquoting and misrepresenting the statements.
And yet again, I must remind you that you admit to not having seen the post in question.... What were you saying about intellectual honesty?
self righteous, holier then thou, pompous posturing.
Indeed....
