6 Year Old Boy Drives School Bus In Milwaukee

(AP) MILWAUKEE A six-year-old Milwaukee boy tried to drive himself home in a school bus.

Authorities say the kindergartner got mad at his teacher and slipped out of the building and climbed into an idling school bus.

The boy then drove around the circle drive in front of the school twice before driving away.

No one was hurt, but the boy did hit a parked car, a tree and knocked down a fence.

The bus was empty at the time.

Milwaukee police are investigating.

If it was my kid, he'd be in a heap of trouble, but I'd have a teeny secret bit of pride in him.

Why the school left an unattended bus idling?

If he had driven his parent's car, they would bear responsibility. It seems clear that the school is at fault here. First, how did he "slip away" unnoticed? If this is possible, than a pedophile predator could just as easily get to him. Second, what is the logic in leaving an unattended school bus with the engine running in front of the school?

"The bus was empty at the time."

One assumes the boy was in the bus to be able to drive it.

Does anyone check their work any longer.
