Dear Muslims in America,
May I suggest that it is time you got yourselves established as part of the American Way of Life, and not people of a religion that belongs to them and not to us.
I have been sending the following email to various calendar makers. You may like to do the same and get your holidays included in the 2007 calendars.
I have noticed that many calendars in the USA list the Christian and the Jewish holidays, but not the Muslim ones.
As there are now 8 million Muslims in the USA, exceeding the 6 million Jews, Islam is now the second most popular religion in the USA, after Christianity.
I feel that their holidays should also be included in the yearly calendars.
Here is the list of Muslim Holidays that could be included on 2007 calendars.
BTW, if you are wondering why the dates of the Muslim Holidays are 10 or 11 days earlier each year, it is because they follow the lunar year, which is about 355 days.
So the dates for 2007 will not work for 2008!
Look forward to hearing from you.

It's all Greek to me!! Hey, where you been? Have not seen you for a while...
My steenkin' office desk calendar already has them (about 6 a month)
Talk about bad timing!
I'm not telling you this to rile you, but my niece's elementary school has Mexican hoidays included with the US ones in order to help the immigrant kids feel better...they just celebrated "Mexican Flag Day" on the 24th. It's one of many they celebrate.
They made mexican food and talked about the three colors of the Mexican flag, Red, White, Green.
They also got to color the Eagle on a Cactus eating a snake and learn about it's symbolism....
My cousin was not amused.
The Boston Globe used to publish a nice, one page calendar that included the main Jewish and Christian holidays.
No more !
Well probably not but the several we have at home do. I'll bet that like in NYC most every calender there has them listed. But then, like myself, I know when every Jewish holiday is - I guess the Muslims have to many to remember plus they're on a progression of dates ...
Yep. If these folks aren't finding that many calendars with Muslim holidays on them, it's because they're not looking.
I can't wait to put a Muslim
"Holiday" on my calendar, one celebrating Islam's (religion/cult) extinction.
Me? NO!
Its time they went the hell home and took their holidays with them.
The Festival of Sacrifice is one they seem to like celebrating.
All they have to do is stay home and buy them in their sandboxes.
Here are a couple they might like:
National Crown Roast of Pork Day--March 7
National Roast Suckling Pig Day--December 18
Or even better:
July is National Hot Dog Month, and according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, Americans will be consuming the infamous little red tubes of "meat" in record numbers this summer.
So, grab a dog and a cold brewsky and try assimilating, all you Abduls and Ahmeds.
Let's not forget Ashoura Day! Very humane.
I am all for integrating islam into our calendar. It is certainly overdue.
Let me work on it. It will take a while. We will be overwhelmed by the sheer volume, however...
Here is a small sample:
Jan 2, 05 Iraq, 6 Fedayeen suicide bomber kills twenty-three people, mostly Iraqi National Guardsmen in a terrorist attack.
jan 3, 05 Algeria, Algeria's Salafist Group kills eighteen people and injure an unknown number.
There is just one likely complaint. There are not enough days to list all the mass murdering religion's atrocities...
I love this persons position.
I nominate Sept 11th as "National Moderate Muslim Silence Day".
Checked my wife's, which is fancier than mine and has nice dog pictures, and it does have some Jewish holidays on it, along with many nationa holidays from othere nations I've never heard of, and, dare I say it, Ramadan.
Don't be so quick to decide...
Calendars can have many forms...
