It's Time to Put Muslim Holidays in US Calendars

Dear Muslims in America,

May I suggest that it is time you got yourselves established as part of the American Way of Life, and not people of a religion that belongs to ‘them’ and not to ‘us’.

I have been sending the following email to various calendar makers. You may like to do the same and get your holidays included in the 2007 calendars.

I have noticed that many calendars in the USA list the Christian and the Jewish holidays, but not the Muslim ones.

As there are now 8 million Muslims in the USA, exceeding the 6 million Jews, Islam is now the second most popular religion in the USA, after Christianity.

I feel that their holidays should also be included in the yearly calendars.

 Here is the list of Muslim Holidays that could be included on 2007 calendars.

BTW, if you are wondering why the dates of the Muslim Holidays are 10 or 11 days earlier each year, it is because they follow the lunar year, which is about 355 days.

So the dates for 2007 will not work for 2008!

I have a feeling that the social gospel churches have already included references to Islam in teachings, if only marginally. You know, kind of side by side with Jesus, Confucius, Zoroaster, and so on.

The desk calander on my desk at work lists these muslim holidays. I can't remember who printed it, but their home office address is 1 Environmental Way. How's that for PC!

An interesting point--one that I'm sure came up on FR--is that the Danish cartoon which sparked so much violence and unrest among the Religion of Peace was a depiction of Muhammed, not Allah. The cartoon featured an image of an earthly man who died, The Prophet. It was not an idol nor did the cartoonist force it on Muslims even if it was.

I wonder how many of the aforementioned churches and organizations cried foul over the Line Drawing from Hell.

Yes, and those who wish to equate the Qur'an with the Hebrew Old Testament usually go wrong on that point.

I bet you would be quite suprised at what they say in private. A foreign national friend of mine - a real friend - got a few drinks into him one night and started spouting the most insane Moonbat crap ever. I mean right up to the Israelis plotting the whole thing. I was shocked by my naivete.

He is still an OK guy - but the general silence of "Moderate Muslims" is deafening. He would be labelled "Moderate" and is a total nutter.

And like the war on some drugs, to possess a pig or to eat pork will be illegal. Bands of federal muslim police will comb the countryside raiding farms. Anyone caught with a pig will be beheaded for defying shar ia law and their farm confiscated.

They are counting all the black people in jail as part of the black moslems.

They are also probably using the same statistics as the mythical 10% homosexuals population number. (it is really around 2% AT MOST)

Not a chance.......England and Canada have stood side by side with the USA through WW I, WW II, Korea, to the present wars against terrorism.

Where has Mexico been?? They boo our athletes, ignore our laws, etc. etc. Come here legally, no problem. But be Americans, NOT Mexican-Americans. When you hyphenate your ancestry, you emphasize your culture. And if your culture is better/equal, why not stay in your country or origin? Don't give me the BS "we are all immigrants"...I said do it legally, learn the language and you have no problem with me.

I grew up in South Texas and served many years in the USMC, with many Blacks and "Mexican Americans" and I resent anyone who tries to call me racist. And that is what you imply.

My only implication is that Canada and England are just as un-American as Mexico. We kicked the Brits out over two centuries ago. It will be a cold day in Hell when I recognize Boxing Day.
