Just wondered what people were giving up for Lent.
Me too! Tried giving up chocolate once- it was UGLY! Everyone I know begged me to never do it again-lol!
I'm not into dietary religious fanaticsm anymore. I'm no masochist.
Im gonna give up all food and say 50 rosaries a day....I want to be "Holy" like my Catholic bretheren:o)
I give up coffee and some years I give up chocolate.
"Does that mean you're working for the Buddists?"
Well, I "own" (as much as a round eye can) a factory in red China, so, yes, sort of.
(They make downhole submersible pumps for me, which I distribute to like-minded captialist pigs who destroy the earth by the production of oil.)
LOL. The divorced girl down the street loved to flirt with my husband. I decided she could have him. I was sure I'd find him back on my doorstep in a week or two, once she figured out a thing or two..
Loverde's giving us a pass on the Friday abstinence, but we have to pick another day during the same week for it.
I gave that up for lent.
Right after I discovered nothing in there about driving on the right side of the road either!
Damned papists!
Oh- ok, LoL! Sounds better. I was trying to imagine stiring in a Tsp of PB into a cup of coffee, and what that would look like... Sometimes I put PB on toast, and have that with my coffee.
for Lent I will give up tracking Vince Foster's murderer(s)...
Thank you for the thoughtful post. Rebuilding a relationship with a spouse is a fine goal. I always have to give up something for it to feel like Lent for me. Last year it was to diet and no booze. I felt better afterwards.
Government?
My New Years resolutions!!!
Damned papists!
Has the Pope made "driving on the right side of the road" a requirement for being a good Christian?
Did you get a chance to try samoa ice cream that came out? Trust me it was absolutely decadent! From what I understand it was out only for a limited time.Thank goodness.
Sacrilege.
Good thing they aren't the water well type pumps, or I'd have something to say to you about cheap made in china products that fail in the middle of winter....
I'm a Lutheran. We don't follow that Catholic ritual of "giving something up for Lent".
I assume that fat cigars and cheap girls are still on the menu?
