Freedom - - I just checked on Wiki, and you're absolutely right!

Mr. Aurandt, who never seems to support our troops or their mission, was drummed out of the Army Air Corps as a section - 8.

Changed his name to Harvey, and now we knowww, the rest of the story!

.

Fred Thompson Signs On As Paul Harvey Substitute

ABC may hire that simple dullard as a (poor) substitute; Mr. Harvey can never be replaced.

I'd go out of my way to hear that. He's got a great voice.

I wish he would run for POTUS. I'd vote for him in a heart beat.

I love Paul Harvey. Why in the hell didn't they pick his son to carry on for him? That just makes no sense. Although I do like Fred Thompson.

I also think it's a good thing that Clinton was impeached, but not removed from office. Clinton's behavior was condemned without making Gore president for almost two years.

He also was the deciding vote on McCain Feingold. And he dropped the ball on Chinagate by setting a deadline for hearings. Other then that he is alright.

Na, he's not too old. He's younger then Reagan.

I'm hoping that even if he doesn't run, he'll be a strong VP pick.

Clinton certainly deserved impeachment

Bill Clinton was, is and always will be impeached. The Senate simply voted against removing him from office.

I always really liked Paul Harvey, but read somewhere several years ago his wife served on the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of the U.S. That organization could put Jim and Tammy Baker to shame with its shady dealings.

Anyway, I always wondered if Paul Harvey would ever get around to telling the "Rest of the Story" about HSUS (I knew better).

I helped elect Fred Thompson. When I would write him a letter or send an email (as I did during ex President Clinton's impeachment) I always received a thoughtful response, more than I can say for Frist.

I never knew he was involved with HSUS, isn't Bob Barker (price is right) a big HSUS guy too?

Thats cool he actually took time to write you back. For some reason (most likely b/c I'm an idiot) I thought Frist was from one of the Carolinas??? He is pretty moderate too, no?

Like I said, his (Paul Harvey's) wife was on the BOD at one time, so I assume he was involved with them too.

Yep, Bob Barker is a big AR donor, and many more hollyweird folks.

Oh yea, Fred Thompson is the man, and the man from Tennessee. I don't know about now, but for most of his Hollywood and Congressional career he was single, unmarried. He is considered the most eligible bachelor in Nashville, once dated country music singer Lori Morgan. I read that his daughter (from a previous marriage) was in some sort of bad accident, or some tragedy, and he became a private citizen again after this.

I met him once in Greene County, TN, when he was on a campaign swing with Frist, Lamar Alexander, Howard Baker, and several other TN pols, during the GOP's "Contract With America" campaign, when the party cleaned house in the House of Reps. in the 1990s, during Clinton's first term.

I was out politicing heavy for him and Frist. Clinton's first term as President turned the majority of normal Americans right. I was so happy the day after the election when lifetime congresscritter Jim Sasser was defeated I mentioned it to someone at work, and my publisher jumped all over me about how friendly Sasser was to the publishing industry. I learned then not to talk politics on the job :)

The problem with this is that Paul Harvey is a genuine midwest conservative and a (I believe) a person who is a genuine believer in practical christianity. I think that he honestly believes the faith. This is and especially has been reflected in his broadcasts. He has mellowed over the years but people forget how conservative Harvey was; George Wallace asked him to run with him in 1968.

I don't believe Fred Thompson is fits either category, and that will reflect.
