Hello,

That is what I can't figure out as well. My understanding is that the management change (to the UAE) will not change their status. So what is the problem? They are either working off of fear, or a desire to change something to their benefit.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

I think there's more of this going on than the media realizes.

Sorry, I'm missing FNC at the moment. My wife is watching a Christmas movie on Hallmark. Sheesh!

I thought time was going by faster each year but this takes the cake.

Hello,

I believe you are exactly correct. To the extent that the Old Media does get it, (that they are no longer the end-all of public perception), I believe this explains why they have stopped even attempting to fake a unbiased stance. It is SO obvious, to even those that are not really paying attention, that the Old Media has a horse in this race. They don't try to hide it any longer.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

HI MOgirl, I'm not sure the media realizes they are Old Media for the most part. Every interview I've seen they continue to claim they represent their perception of mainstream America. Were it not for New Media, they would be getting away with that better.

I think it was the 60 Minute exposure of Dan Rather's bogus Bush military letter that did them in the most. Rather was debunked so quickly that I think it stunned all of them.

But, I do agree with you. Old Media is more openly supporting the Democrats

Or do they think if they stir up enough panic their Democrat Pols can ride to the rescue and "nationalize" port operations under the guise of "safety" like they did the Airline Screeners after 9-11 and add tens of thousands of new workers to the Govt Union rolls?

That would be my guess, and of course that would be a disaster on so many levels.

Hi, Tx. I don't think I 'll be watching Cindy; she makes my head hurt.

But here's a thread about it and she's on in the 5:00 hour.

Great stuff her phsstpok, wish I had time to stay on here a few hours.Tomorrow I want to hear just one port/cry baby give me a solid reason why Dubai should not be given the contracts now held by Great Britain.
Every one from Hannity down is dealing in huge generalities about nat. security without the first hard evidence/specifics of wrong doing by Dubai. It s all potential problems nothing hard that should keep Dubai from getting the leases. All they have is history before 911.

Exactly right here Morgan that's what the 45 extra days are really about, demagogue time for the rats/msm press to dig their heels in again.

Thanks for the thread, Peach...I just got home..

We are getting a gully washer here in north Texas, and we need it SO bad....but, I got caught in "rain traffic"...

I know what you mean about Cindy...but, it MIGHT be a diversion from this port talk...and it could be good for a chuckle or two..

Are you planning on watching the Olympics??

You are always so level headed and calming for me...thanks..

It is kind of ironic, but a month or so ago, I was wondering why Peter King was never mentioned to run for POTUS, after he was a calm voice in the NSA thing...and other stuff that the dems were stirring up.

BUT, I heard him on 3-4 radio and TV talk shows...and he seemed almost dismissive of ANYONE that had a reasonable arguement to back this port thing..I am sure it is hard in New York to be too conservative...but, he has in the past.

With all of the lawsuits that have filed already,...or will be filed in the days to come, I am sure, this whole thing could be tied up in litigation just long enough to have it keep the poll numbers down for the GOP...

Which is probably why so many Reps are making fools of themselves over this...but, it not only isn't doing any good in keeping the GOP numbers up...they are likely to lose PRIMARY voters to people like US that won't forget how the ran scared...

and we just might find someone with more backbone to take their slots...I just cannot get over how fast Delay, Frist, Hastert and others were out condemning this before they even attempted to talk to President Bush...and get ALL of the facts...

OH...I forgot to say...that your wife is probably the sanest of all of us...by watching Christmas movies instead of banging her head against the wall over politics..

So..you be nice to her. (and it really is only February, not time to put the tree up yet).

Bah....do you know what has kinda made me scratch my head is that Chrissy Matthews HAS covered this, but not nearly as giddily as he has other "scandals"...

Have you noticed that..or am I just thinking that if he isn't foaming at the mouth, he isn't excited?

LOL. The flying spit level was definitely not at nukular level. I did wonder about that.

I was looking at the guests for tomorrows shows...and Biden is supposed to be on Fox...but they got Fran Townsend opposite him...

I have found that Fran Townsend and Barbara Comstock are MUCH better spokespersons for the White House than any of the men they put out...like Dan Bartlett...

I just get the impression that they work harder to dispute the crapola that the dems spew....and Mt. Biden will be spewing all over the place tomorrow, so I hope Townsend is ready to slap that fake smile off his face.

Fran Townsend is excellent. Mt. Biden. LOL. I will never forgive him for saying to Condi Rice that she should address the president by saying "Hey, boss". The man is a crass idiot.

I also wish that President Bush would hire Torie Clark back to his staff....and pull Karen Hughes of that assignment she is on (which has been less than effective from what I have read)...and bring her back to run his public relations.

The White House has a public relations problem, for sure. It's so important in this age of instant information and instant spin, I don't have any idea why they do such a terrible job. I know the substance is more important than the perception, but jeepers.
