Murray calls on Bush for details -- or halt to sale (Sic) [Bin Laden Admirer Barf Alert]

Washington state's senior senator attacked the sale of six ports' shipping operations to a United Arab Emirates-owned firm Wednesday, saying the deal should be halted unless the administration provides more details about the sale and its conditions.

"We have a right to the knowledge," Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., said at a news conference overlooking Seattle's harbor. "If we are not satisfied, then I fully expect Congress to move forward to stop the deal. Now we are asking for information so we can make the right decision."

Murray and Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said they were concerned about the sale of American port operations to Dubai Ports World because some of the 9/11 hijackers had been based in the United Arab Emirates and groups associated with al-Qaida had moved money through its banks.

Sen. Patty Murray is Cindy Sheehan without the charm.

I think it is hilarious that some of these liberal senators who never met a terrorist they didn't like are suddenly oh-so-concerned about the security of our ports - for as long as they can use the issue to score points off of President Bush, that is.

I really, really wish that Washington voters could put Murray out of our misery, but I understand the realities of communist Seattle.

I suspect she is a dyke.....she appears to have all the necessary physical characteristics.

Thank you for reminding me again why Senator Murray will always be a contender for Congressional Doofus of the Year even though she has some extremely strong competition.

This is all politics. Isn't Murray running in 2006? I hope she is beaten.

Because of my employer I'm in the interesting position of meeting a lot of these folks.  Murray, McDermott, Gorton, Cantwell etc...

Patty's pretty pleasant until her mouth moves and sound comes out if it.

Slade Gorton's nice.  I felt bad for him over losing his Senate seat.

McDermott's a complete goofball.

No, Murray was reelected in 04. Cantwell is up for reelection this year.

You're being too king to McDermott calling him a goofball. :)

Slade Gorton's nice. I felt bad for him over losing his Senate seat.

I liked Gorton as a Senator but after he lost he went left. He supported the gas tax increase in Washington State and rallied for it.

Don't think for a second that I'm being to "king" to you.

But Sen Patty in saying this: " so we can make the right decision" fails to understand that it is not her job or her perogative to have any say so in a matter like this.

But then again. It apparently was'nt Geo.F.'s job or perogative either...and he's gonna veto it if someone says boo!

It shouldn't be Murray's job to make any decisions. The students in that Vancouver class she talked up bin Laden to, I'm sure all have more common sense than she does.

No need for (sic); the use of sale in this headline is correct.

The headline says, "halt to sale" instead of "halt sale"

Your picture of Murray is extremely clear now.

You are too "king".

I see......the writer is using "halt" as a noun instead of as a verb. Ambiguous headline still, IMO.

I stand corrected on the "Sic" though.
