Port Authority: We're suing to stop sale to Dubai firm

NEW YORK -- The Port Authority said Thursday it will file suit to block a Dubai-based firm from taking over operations at a Port Newark container terminal, saying the federal government has not given them assurances about security issues.

Well I keep hearing about a lot of Republican's that are against this deal. That makes it much more than what you say. Maybe you are trying to make it a political war in order to justify what you must know in your heart is wrong for your country. Would you let me buy control of your house. Why? It would be stupid for P&O to close their operations in these ports. They would take a huge loss. They would find a different buyer who could pass our approval. See my post #268. The workers would keep right on working.

It's utterly illogical. If, as we are told, the "guys unloading the ships won't change", and UAE is not bringing in new labor or management, why would the unions be concerned?

Cute. Thought it almost certainly was your point. A lot of folks on this thread keep struggling to come up with examples of "home-grown" terrorists to try to downplay the notion that there is a link between the middle east and terrorism. This is how we defend the misguided ports deal.
