Well I keep hearing about a lot of Republican's that are against this deal. That makes it much more than what you say. Maybe you are trying to make it a political war in order to justify what you must know in your heart is wrong for your country. Would you let me buy control of your house. You can still live there, but I would like to have control of it.

And there are ports in Cleveland and Toledo! There are even...Walmarts.
To: CWOJackson
And a whole lot of locals would become unemployed. Why? It would be stupid for P&O to close their operations in these ports. They would take a huge loss. They would find a different buyer who could pass our approval. See my post #268. The workers would keep right on working.

That was a Bush talking point starting yesterday bubbling up in talk radio, not Rush first. Blame the unions. Which doesn't make sense
It's utterly illogical. If, as we are told, the "guys unloading the ships won't change", and UAE is not bringing in new labor or management, why would the unions be concerned?
To: jackbenimble
If this sale doesn't go through I don't think any other foreign investor would be willing to go through the same process.
To: onyx
Are you talking about these guys again (2 of whom immigrated to the US from the middle east):
Mohammad Zaki Amawi, 26
Marwan Othman el-Hindi, 42
Wassim Mazloum, 24
And is your point that terrorists are just as likely to originate in the US as the Middle East?
To: DJ MacWoW; ARCADIA
Did you read what he said, DJ? Give me a break! He's accusing us of worshipping false prophets. If that's not hatred, what is?
I'm just stating the obvious based on HIS words. No need to leave this thread on my account. You've been very rational.
As to the Ohio terrorists, I heard that they were naturalized citizens. At any rate, they were HERE, and not in Dubai.

Ah.........afraid to ping me, notigar?
Read my posts on this thread. You're blanket accusation of me is quite untrue.
But then, I imagine you already knew that you weren't telling the truth. Thought you were being cute too, I'll wager........

"Strange how England is currently in the process of finalizing the same deal with DP World for operations in their own ports."
England is in the same trouble that we are. They are loosing there country as well. The only ones who are gaining are are the Muslims and the Chinese. They are good at this game. We are good little sheeple who just sit and watch it happen to us. If you want to see a more advanced stage of what is to come then just look at France.

Of course your ASSumption is not my point at all.Cute. Thought it almost certainly was your point. A lot of folks on this thread keep struggling to come up with examples of "home-grown" terrorists to try to downplay the notion that there is a link between the middle east and terrorism. This is how we defend the misguided ports deal.
To: Revel
Yes, England is in the same trouble we are; fighting an terrible enemy outside their nation while having to fend off the domestic ones at the same time.
I have faith that they, like us, will prevail.
