The President and I disagree with you about the value of said deal.
A perfectly legitimate concern, which I presume FCIUS considered in the approval process, and which (considering the number of terrorists in Great Britain) existed previously. Not much in this complex world is risk-free.
I just heard the President is willing to go with a delay in order to address security concerns.
I certainly hope that's correct.
This used to be the most informative publication for the shipping industry -- Journal of Commerce -- requires a subscription, which I let lapse a while back as I don't handle anything that would make it worthwhile anymore.

They have a freebie offer, try for a month and cancel.
That's too bad.
I like to call myself a free-thinking Republican. Knee-jerk reactions, no matter which corner of the political spectrum it eminates from, is a big turn off for me. It just tells me, someone, somebody, or a group of people haven't thought things out.
I don't find myself sweating that one. Probably face saving for the kneejerk Congresscritters...
Don't sweat it. The hysterical figures have had their day in the sun, it's time to get the fact out.
So what is your answer then....
I'm still on the fence with this one but with the delay it should help people one way or another in deciding.
Apparently the president wants to delay the deal.
This is being re-aired on C-SPAN at 6:01 PM (coming up).
"Willing to" does not equate with "wants to" - as I already stated, he and I already disagree with you about the value of said deal.
I still maintain you couldn't have watched much of that hearing at all. Did you know that legislation crafted by Congress requires that CFIUS work in strict secrecy? So your post previously that "Bush didn't even know" is a little over the top, wouldn't you say?
j
CFIUS is an interagency body staffed by midlevel officials and chaired by the Treasury Department. The Departments of Defense, State, Justice, and Commerce are among the agencies that participate in the CFIUS process. Representatives from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the intelligence community are also involved, sometimes in an advisory capacity. President Bush made the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) a member of CFIUS in February 2003.
