Long Beach Longshoreman Threatens the Host (Rush Limbaugh)
The Rush Limbaugh Show ^ | 2/22/06 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 02/23/2006 6:28:31 AM PST by RushCrush

RUSH: Jerry in Long Beach, I'm glad you waited, sir, welcome to the program.

CALLER: Uh, Rush, I'm a proud member of the longshoremen's union.

RUSH: Yes, sir.

CALLER: I don't appreciate you attacking our union, try to make this part of this debate. Are you telling us that Republicans don't care about our jobs? Are you telling us that Republicans want to break our union?

RUSH: No.

CALLER: Is that what this deal was about?

RUSH: No! No.

CALLER: Or is this about -- Or is this about President --

RUSH: There you go again! There you go stereotyping! There you go stereotyping.

CALLER: Is he afraid he's not going to get his commission?

RUSH: I'm telling you that from everything I know, nothing's going to change. I have said this for the past two days.

CALLER: So why are you attacking my union?

RUSH: I'm not "attacking your union"! I'm simply pointing out who your union donates to and explaining why Schumer and Hillary and these other Democrats are speaking out in opposition to the deal. While they're telling us it's about national security, it's not, they're telling it because they're trying to loyal to you. You're the ones that --

CALLER: What you're not saying is that this is a violation of the Trading with Enemies Act. You couple this with the violation of the Espionage Act, a violation of the Foreign Intelligence --

RUSH: It's none of that.

CALLER: -- Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, you've got this president committing three felonies, sir!

RUSH: It's none of that!

CALLER: He's a criminal.

RUSH: (laughing)

CALLER: And what you're doing is criminal -- and don't you attack my union!

RUSH: I didn't attack your union, but I'm about to start --

CALLER: Well, let's get it on, buddy.

Union thug going verbal in public for all too see the real truth about unions. I have turned down two jobs in the past 5 years because I WAS REQUIRED to join the union within 30 days of employment. One was with the county. I refused to join. They said they could not hire me if I refused to join the union. I said, "so this job is not about how good I can do this job, but that I will donate to the socialist democrat party." The woman just looked at me. I asked the question again. She responded it was "required" to join the union. I kindly told her what she could do with her union job and left.

""You pro-union?"

No. I'm pro reason"

So you just had a brain fart when you wrote your response. Please explain your rational for your conclusion.

Why can't we just send all the illegal aliens in Texas to do those jobs?

It would certainly help my state.

Unions have some benefits (purchase power for medical benefits for one).

You don't have to be in a union like the longshoremen to form a group that could negotiate better medical insurance or pensions plans.

What was the gist of the threat made at Rush? I came in late, didn't hear it.

I've never understood why it's illegal for corporations act in concert to fix the cost of a product to a consumer, but it's legal for unions to fix the cost of labor for businesses.

"Well, let's get it on, buddy."...   ....  It is not a challenge. That is being asked to step outside and settle this.

Right.  And "settle" means trial by combat.   It is not a threat.  It is an invitation to violence that can be declined at the cost of being called a coward.  A threat of being called a coward is not a treat of violence.  This story is bogus --Rush was threatened with insult and he was not threatened with violence like everyone's trying to say.

If he had been threatened with violence then he could have the longshoreman brought up on charges of "assault", which means treat of physical attack.  Rush was not threatened.

Specifically, post on the thread above, it says 'Well, let's get it on, buddy.'

That is synonomous with telling someone to step outside.

But my ping really wasn't about that. There are a lot of good posts in this thread talking about the unions. I was referencing the unions history of activism with the Atlantic Lamb and Veal union and insinuating activism.

>>>This story is bogus --Rush was threatened with insult and he was not threatened with violence like everyone's trying to say.

Was this distinguished? I was on this whole thread and I believe you are the only one splicing the type of thread. I think most of the discussions have been about unions in general.

It's more than that. They get paid 10 hours for an 8 hour job. BUT the 8 hour job usually only takes 4 hours, so they can do two full jobs in one day, thus getting twenty paid hours for 8 worked hours.

A friend of mine is a part-timer there, who is working to get his full-time card. Can't blame him. He hold a clipboard and checks off boxes as they're unloaded and makes a bunch of money. I don't know what the current pay is, but it was a lot 5 years ago when I knew what he was making.

Rush was correct. The last thing the Party of Treason is concerned about is National Security. If it believes it can gain political points it will attack everything that is helpful to the Nation.

Mentioning National Security and Democrat in the same sentence is only valid as a comedy routine. That is what this clown provided too.

BTW the Longshoresmen Union was run for decades by Harry Bridges a card carrying commie.

I haven't heard it either and I came in early.

What everyone here is saying is that the guy said "Well, let's get it on, buddy."  OK, maybe people pick on Rush to much, but Rush is going over the top trying to play like Salmon Rushdi.

I'm also proud to say I've scabbed!

"But if we could abolish unions today, there would be a need for them tomorrow."

Needed in what way? To ensure wage controls against nations that make things for half the costs? I have no dog in this fight, and I really don't know how it is going to play out in 50 years.

It remains remarkable that so many HERE of all places still believe the Party of Treasons lies as trumpeted by the Treason Media. They form a mindless pack quicker than dogs on the trail of a racoon.

They, like the wimps in Congress, have not learned even YET that not one word out of the mouths of these RATS can believed. Nor have they learned that the RATS have NO concern about National Security.

It might not be a bad idea to tie this topic into the political and social atmosphere in NY and NJ. NYC is a sanctuary city and NJ was the home of WTC conspiracy. The people I know from there don't understand the American government and they don't believe in democracy. They do believe in the maffia, however. Is this the atmosphere of felon longshoremen that we are pretending is buttoned down national security? How much did Jon Corzine pay that union leader girlfriend?

If you look closely at what the union demands of the Transit Union workers were, it was positively LAUGHABLE!!
They want everything a Congresscritter gets! Possibility of retirment after X years (20?), FULL benefits everywhich way,etc.etc. It is NOT about being exploited through low wages and overwork! They are socialists at heart, and THEY DON'T WANT TO WORK! THEY HATE TO WORK! Like all socialists living in the USA, they want to hijack the fruits and possibilities only capitalism can create, and turn them into socialist benefits. They think capitalism is Socialism with Training Wheels, that the ultimate destiny of capitalism is to serve and fulfill the demands of the socialist utopia .
