Democrats, after 11 years as the minority party in Congress, still can't get it right with their own voters, a poll shows. By objecting to virtually every initiative and proposal of the Bush administration and congressional Republican majority, Democrats are undermining their party's chances of regaining the majority this fall, the John Zogby poll of 1,039 likely voters suggests. While House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and other visible Democrats in Washington pick fights with Republicans, the poll shows that 58 percent of rank-and-file Democratic voters say their leaders should "accept their lower position in Congress and work together with Republicans to craft the best legislation possible." Only 6 percent of Democratic respondents say the No. 1 goal for their party's lawmakers in Congress should be to bury Republican bills. The poll suggests that many Democratic voters accept their party's minority status. Nearly a quarter of Democrats -- 23 percent -- say Republicans do a better job running Congress. "Democrats nationwide now seem to be adopting this minority-status mind-set," says Fritz Wenzel, Zogby International spokesman. "Democrats are tired of the warring and bitter partisanship that goes on inside the Washington Beltway." The Democratic National Committee disputes that interpretation. "The poll reconfirms what Americans have been saying for months: Under Republican leadership, America is headed in the wrong direction," said DNC communications director Karen Finney. "The truth is, a lot of Democrats know that Republicans aren't doing a good job running Congress, and a strong majority have faith in Democratic leadership and ideas."

The reason for this is the Democrats have been overthrown from within and are now run by socialist with mean tempers. There is no room in the Democrat Party for anyone other than ultra liberals and that is a fact. Regardless, any Democrat that is elected he will toe the mark and march in lockstep or they will be relegated to obscurity. Their puppets like Obama and others that try to look moderate are nothing more than just that. If they gain power the socialist will rule with a firm hand.

In order to inspire people to vote for you, you need to be optimistic and have some new ideas. Just acting mean and carping on your opponent won't get the job done.

The Democrat party, which by any measure is the mirror-image of the British Socialist Labor Party, is in serious decline. The Party has lost election after election. Rank and file Democrats who have traditionally backed the party are leaving in droves.

democrats can now count on only bloc voters such as blacks, lawyers, unions, welfare-stat recipients and the major media.

Money has dried up from small contributors. Money raised now must come from wealthy socialists and special interest groups whose only political power is to back the party that goes their way.

Democrat leadership is the key. When once Democrats could field political giants for high office they must now settle for the strongest of the weak.

the major problem the Democrats have is that Americans are no longer listening to the socialist mantra of class warfare, poor against the rich, no-tax-cuts-because-itwould only-benefit-the-rich, and po' blacks.

Who would have thunk it? 58% of democrats think their elected officials should be reasonable and attempt to craft the best legislation possible? Now wouldn't that be a shocking change?!

It's a shame that the democrat politicians cater to the 6%, and not the 58%.

The RATs really hurt themselves by ditching Paul Hackett for Sherrod Brown. At least Hackett had a personality, however wacked. It's hilarious to see them attack him for his "profanity-laced" rhetoric, given that one of the most popular Presidents in history--Harry Truman--cursed almost every other word, and even threatened to beat up a reporter who gave his daughter a bad Opera review. T.R. was an equally abrasive character.

But nowadays everyone seems to insist on neutered, dull as cardboard wussies to be docile, play-by-the-rules whores to corporations and interest groups. I cannot remember a more pathetic group of losers than now infect the halls of Congress.

But many GOP voters are less than enthusiastic with the party these days too. Chester County, PA was a bastion of Republicanism since 1856, and more and more GOPers are changing their stripes in these parts.

Paul Weyrich, who happens to be a close personal friend of mine, says the grassroots of the GOP are not very enthusiastic about the GOP's old-style liberalism. The GOP is not as far to the Left as the Dems, but it is sliding away from the principles of Reaganism.

A change of 5-6 seats in the Senate and about 15 in the House could cost the GOP control of Congress.
