A gay Web sites praise of bawdy bathroom behavior in Malden City Hall has sparked a tempest over the toilet.
The mayor is ordering the first-floor mens room to remain open while city councilors want it locked up or a security plan put in place.
The public needs these kinds of facilities and I dont see the need of closing it, said Malden Mayor Richard Howard, adding others are overreacting to the gay site.
An anonymous letter sent to the City Council alerted them to a five-star ranking on the Gay Universe site for male-on-male sexual encounters in the stalls.
The mens room in Malden City Hall is the only municipal building listed, according to the site. Its a desirable destination some politicians are determined to blot out.
God forbid someones kids are in there when this is going on, said Councilor John Furlong.
City Council President Michael T. Sheehan, in a letter faxed to the Herald, called on the mayor to present a security plan to protect those who need to use the bathroom if he intends to keep it open.
Frank Conway of the Government Center Commission, which oversees the bathrooms, said there have been arrests for trespassing and damage.
I just hope we dont have to hire a detail officer to stay down there, he added.
And I've never heard of a website for heterosexuals.
Have to wonder if the janitors get adequate training in dealing with hazardous materials or danger pay.
"Take this article with you and next time someone tries to tell you being queer is "Normal" let them read about the toilet Rangers who hang around public restrooms ,drilling holes in the stalls so they can watch other men relieve themselves."
I think they call them glory holes, and they're not just for peeping.
Sexual Freedom Activists Target 'Archaic, Unjust' Sex Laws (6/01/04)
"I've seen firsthand how the misuse of these [public lewdness] laws has ruined the lives of gay and bisexual men," said Matt Foreman, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force.
They are referring to this as "Brokeback Malden" on Howie Carr's talk show today...hysterical comments from callers. The Malden mayor says that this situation is being "exaggerated". Photos of the holes will be all over the Boston news tonight, Mr. Mayor. Exaggerated? I don't think so.
You need to check the local schools, Mr. Furlong. That is your REAL name, right?
A furlong is an eighth of a mile, one-eighth or 12.5 percent.
Just in case any pinging be a-going on.
Remember a year or two ago in the UK, "gay" activists were outraged because some MPs wanted to outlaw "gay" sex cruising in public bathrooms?
The homosexual activists claimed that anonymous public bathroom sex was part of their culture and to outlaw it was bigotry and discrimination.
I don't remember the outcome.
Their motto is, "We'll erect for you!"
Did you know that the cop was married to Phylicia Rashad? Just a little worthless trivia for you.
I have seen inside the bathroom when FOX25 filmed inside this morning. VB's talking about it, filling in for Howie.
Quite a few holes in it, from what VB says...'assorted sizes'. Can't wait to move out of New England...
In two different major cities I noticed that there were businesses with a lot of gay employees directly across from the public library. In one of these cities there was later a scandal when heterosexuals got tired of being accosted in the library restroom. In the other city there was a large sign outside the library restroom warning against "illegal and inappropriate behavior".
Ewwwww, I had not considered that probability.
This is usually a cause for celebration.
Its damned sick no matter what you call them. Its also suicidal. Sex thru a hole not knowing what disease the fruit on the other side is carrying is insanity.
ALL of it is mental illness. Some are afraid to make such judgements these days thanks to the Sex Positive agenda.
