ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (AP) President Bush says the deal allowing an Arab company to take over six major U.S. seaports should go forward and he will veto any bill that would stop it.
Thinking here. Support the GOP? Or upgrade to a better brand of Scotch? Decisions, decisions... :O)

LOL!!!
Where is your evidence? The stuff you posted about Dubai being a country was first discredited as was your assertion that they are a friendly, kumbaya-singing nation that harbors no ill will toward the US.
Bush will veto any bill to stop port deal.
The bush legacy.
The sell-out of Americans.
Tough talk, but I doubt he will do it. Even if he does his veto will be overridden. Bush couldn't win an election now to save his life.
bump......
That's it. Now I know you're an idiot Democrat. Only they will flip though the dial to find an opinion that matches their own instead of seeking facts.
"If you get your wish and the deal falls through, what then?"
Well, the "deal" is a buyout of P & O by DPWorld, which has not gotten final approval from either the British courts or every party in the United States that would be impacted by the acquisition.
So, if the deal falls through, then there is no problem. P & O will remain an independent business entity, and will continue to honor their contractual obligations to various ports on the eastern seaboard and gulf coast of the United States.
What did you have in mind, some sort of Chinese deal? That won't fly either; witness the firestorm over Chinese attempts to purchase Unocal last year, and their attempts at securing a long-term lease on the Port of Long Beach back during the Clinton Administration.
"Over it's NOT, till over it IS" Yoda Berra...
there will be. Bush has just tossed the republican congress, standing for re-election in 2006, into the toilet. they are on their own now, and must act accordingly.
Frank Gaffney broke the story, not Schumer or any of the dems.
Conservatives generally think and leave the emoting to liberals.
I'm easy to persuade if the evidence is there. Where is it?
Yep there sure is! Bush doesn't have to run any more for anything.
I am still looking at this issue. I heard a lot about it on the radio while driving for 7.5 hours today. One thing is for sure: I won't let Jimmy Carter control my opinion on the issue. Whether he is for or against this contract makes no difference to me. Carter also speaks English, but doesn't mean we should take up another language.
It sounded like Tony Snow did a pretty good analysis of this issue today, and I am inclined to agree with it, so far. There appear to be a limited number of companies who do this work, all of which are outside of the US. Halliburton doesn't do this kind of work. None of the other companies (I think there were 3 of them) sounded any better. Snow also noted that the Coast Guard controls security at the ports, and these companies have no control at all on it.
I am ready to be further educated....
P&O doesn't want to be in the "biz" anymore, which is why they're selling. If you took billions out of my pocket, I'd close up shop and tell you to kiss my ass. That leaves us with the Chinese, the Singaporeans, or Joe Taxpayer goes into the shipping business.
I missed it when Chinese people attacked America. I also missed it when China's Zen Taoists and Buddhists declared death to America. Just because these two options are the only ones talked about, does not mean that either one is a good idea.
or how about any arab country - acquiring the contracts to operate american nuclear power plants? would we do that?
