I always thought the Koran said that Allah was a deceiver and trickster. There is a different name for such a being in the Bible and it is not God.

Allah IS a deity distinct from Jehovah, sharing few of the attributes assigned to the Supreme Being worshiped by Judaism and its descendent religion, Christianity. Even that peculiar modification of Christianity, the Latter Day Saints, still holds to the worship of the merciful God Jehovah.
Allah, on the other hand, sanctions the most atrocious and vengeful actions of men against other men, and has no qualities of mercy or forgiveness anywhere. Truly, it has provided license for all forms of mental derangement. The tenets of the faith are all utterly logical, but arrive at totally bizarre conclusions.
In the eternal battle between Ahura Mazda and Ahriman, Ahriman won the battle for the souls of men in the Assyrian Desert and assumed the name "Allah".
