Lets Fight This Terrible Crime Against Our Children
Child pornography has become a business so profitable that it is no longer limited to pedophiles. Demand exceeds supply and always will. (Some pedophiles, if they had the resources, would acquire a copy of every single piece of child pornography ever produced.) The risk/gain ratio is extremely favorable. And the return on investment is extraordinary. What crime syndicate would pass up such an opportunity? [Andrew Vachss, PARADE Magazine, February 19, 2006]

"[I]f we are to wage war [against child pornographers], we must know our enemy. We need to know more about those who create this unspeakable 'product,' why they do it and the various ways it is used ... The question then becomes: What can we do?" I've never encountered any child pornography in my 12 years of using the internet. I'm sure it's out there, but I've sure never seen any such thing.
I'd be interested to hear if anyone reading this thread has actually ever encountered child pornography by accident and what the circumstances were.

I've never believed that very long prison sentences is the solution to most crimes. Stronger enforcement is.

I have never come across child porn by accident but there are groups on Usenet like alt.pedophilia.boys, alt.support.boy-lovers, alt.support.girl-lovers, et al, so I'm sure that it's out there.

Child porn must be distributed some other way than the internet, I guess. I imagine it's done through rather secretive methods.
I've asked the same question of a lot of people, and have never found anyone who had ever encountered it.

The people who make child porn as well as the people who intentionally download it need to be shot in the head, failing that just put them in general population and let every inmate in the prison know why they are in there.

Yuck! I don't use usenet at all any more. It seems to have been taken over by stupid adolescent boys who like to disrupt things. I never did find it very useful.

I've always liked Usenet, weird as it is. If you're looking for topics like consumer information, support for medical conditions, etc., I've found it helpful. Then again, a lot of it (most?) is pure crappola.
Once I came across a website where some parents were obstensibly trying to help their eleven-year-old son find a girl friend. The entire site was creepy. I forwarded it to the FBI and a couple of years later I read about a couple in Oregon who were arrested for somethng just like that website.
It's a nutty world.

I thought you would.
The deal here is people reacting to images.
Some folks are upset because there are cartoons of Mohamed they don't like and want violators thrown in the dungeons.
Cartoons depicting child porn are considered child porn - even though no children were used.

You will probably find out that Freepers have no tolerance for Child or any pornography Including us "Liberal-tarians." I'm surprised I didn't see the obligatory post accusing Libertarians of supporting child porn, as well as all the other deviances we supposedly support as well.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone reading this thread has actually ever encountered child pornography by accident and what the circumstances were. I never have either and I often wonder how someone would go about finding it. It seems to me that if it were easy to find law enforcement could find it and shut down and arrest the owners. We know it's out there, but I wonder if the availability and quantity isn't being overblown somewhat. Any child porn is too much but I think the issue may be overstated.

Yeah, 20 years ago it was a great place to exchange information and get help on a whole variety of topics. Once the first advertiser posted an ad in all the groups it was doomed. I even remember the ad. It was for immigration lawyers.

You are also FReepers.
I would never accuse libertarians of supporting Child porn without proof, other than that; it would just be a cheap shot.

Pornography as a whole is is immoral
Child pornography has become a business so profitable that it is no longer limited to pedophiles.
That statement is a lie, anyone who wants to look at naked children is a pedophile, they just have not acted upon their sick perverted fantasy yet.
I am a firm believer of the Constitution. Yet pornography is another example of how the Constitution is perverted from what the founding fathers meant.
Who in their right mind would be proud to have their son or daughter in that sick industry (over 18). That industry's harvest is a bounty of cheating, disease, abortion, rape, and incest which leads to broken families, children with mental and social problems, sadness, misery, murder, violence.
The punishment for the people that exploit these innocent little ones never is severe enough to deter these sick minded people.
Our Great Country has been and is going to Hell, we have allowed acceptance to creep in and we are slowly loosing the moral system. Not the moral system of man but the one our Creator has endowed into us. This country's removal of the God of the Bible has brought us to this cross road. It can be linked back to the early 60's when creation was the first of many God linking mechanisms was removed from education, the pledge of allegiance, Christmas plays, praying in school.
The further we remove God from our public forum the deeper into accepted public perversion this country will get.
