A gay, alcoholic Bishop, for whose sake the Church has been split apart: how is this not the work of Satan?

There is no explanation from the diocese as to why this bishop did not seek treatment years ago, rather than traveling around the world promoting his new lifestyle and causing one of the worst crises in the history of the U.S. Episcopal Church, and more than 70 millions Anglicans worldwide.

Hopefully it will all lead to an early grave for him.

What illegal drugs does he do? One of the many dirty secrets of the Male Homosexuals is their use of illegal drugs during their orgies and sexual encounters.

There's nothing wrong with him being an alcoholic. I am curious though how it was in the zeal to make him a bishop that his drinking was overlooked or ignored.

The Bible twice says that Bishops should be sober, and twice says they should not be given to wine.

My guess is that he became addicted to alcohol by hanging around gay bars trolling to get on his knees outside of his Church.

Making this guy a Bishop was insanity.

My guess is he's also dealing a myriad of other problems associated with the gay lifestyle.

Hey Robinson, tough to live with yourself isn't when you demolish a religion through your evil and selfish ways .

No drink or drug is strong enough to hide this from your demented mind and soulless body.

If you're looking for sham salvation he'd be a good place to start.

"There is absolutely no question in my mind that alcoholism is a three-fold disease of spirit, mind and body "

Concur completely, wagglebee, and that's from the perspective of 33 years. The bishop has some sorting out to do. I wish him well. It's good to know the door is never closed to anyone.

When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help,I want the hand of AA always to be there, and for that,I am responsible.

More than most people, the alcoholic leads a double life. He is very much the actor. To the outer world he presents his stage character. This is the one he likes his fellows to see. He wants to enjoy a certain reputation, but knows in his heart he doesn't deserve it.
Big Book, Chapter 6

The main things that alcoholics are filled with when the hit bottom is fear, resentment and self-loathing. We have absolutely no idea who we really are and we are terrified to find out. We have used anything to avoid seeing ourselves for what we are. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Robinson has actually been using homosexuality as a tool to hide from himself.

"At New York's gay pride parade last spring, marchers and spectators crowded around him for more than three hours, reaching out to touch his hand, crying and thanking him."

Does this refer to the bishop, or Rudy Giuliani?

And was it really his hand they were reaching for?

If I were gay, I might look to alcohol to ease the disgrace and shame.

It is remotely possible that this disgraced cleric's alcoholism came from self medication trying to escape the shameful reality that his insistence on becoming an unrepentant, non-celibate gay Bishop has totally fractured the Anglican Communion.

Would that his 12 step treatment program lead to repentance and amendment of life for ALL his vices.

Anyone ever hear of the thieving murdering police officer who gets to remain a cop? What's the difference here? How can you preach the bible but live against it?

Can you say Brokeback Bible?
