when Peter King called the white house in the middle of this week to raise the red flag about what was happening here, they should have announced the next morning that this was going to be undone. As always, when you don't react fast to a story, the opposition fills the vacuum and sets the tone - and that's where we are right now.

It's interesting how some of the Dems are taking note of the issues important to Republicans and not only that, but pre-empting the Rs here and there. Even Hillary is selling what's left of her soul to adjust to public sentiment.

As a limp-wristed GOP Congressman from a Marxist state that is more likely to elect Osama bin Laden than a Republican candidate, I'd say Peter King's influence on any issue is pretty inconsequential.

In fact, I would venture to guess that Rodney King has a better chance of getting through to the Oval Office than Peter King does.

Rep. Peter King was on Fox and Friends this morning. One of the issues he was saying was that the purchasing co (UAE) would have to 'interface' with port security, so they would get allot of inside security info and techniques, etc.

This deal makes about as much sense as Bill Clinton selling missile aiming technology to the Chinese, no matter how the Bushbots parse the terms or put lipstick on this pig.

well said! The WH will ultimately kill this but are probably wasting time reviewing it etc etc They just don't react as fast as the Clinton crowd did. What happened to Rove on this one?

There are things I think that the Bush Administration does well, and things I think they do pretty poorly. Spin control and reacting to news reports are one of the the things they do very poorly. I didn't think it was possible to do as poorly in this arena as the BA has.
