Michael Savage is talking to Chuck Schumer at this very minute.
Thanks a LOT
when Peter King called the white house in the middle of this week to raise the red flag about what was happening here, they should have announced the next morning that this was going to be undone. As always, when you don't react fast to a story, the opposition fills the vacuum and sets the tone - and that's where we are right now.
Other talk radio (Tony Snow, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity) are still stuck on Cheney's shooting accident.
They are selling ports to UAE? I thought they just bought the company that is currently administering port services.
Sure was big of the Administration to hand the democrats such a useful gift. This time they may just get somewhere with it.
The Admin shouldn't have provided such easy ammo.
he needs to have tom coburn on...tom is a conservative and is concerned about this issue.
That Cheney story is the stupidest excuse for news since Natalie Holloway.
WHK should rebroadcast at 9 pm eastern if the basketball game is over. (also on the internet)
He had Tom Foley yesterday. He's a good guy too
It's interesting how some of the Dems are taking note of the issues important to Republicans and not only that, but pre-empting the Rs here and there. Even Hillary is selling what's left of her soul to adjust to public sentiment.
thats why i turned them off.....(not mark, because i dont get him locally)
You are right. How did Bush let this one go? I'm not a republican but of late have voted that way out of concern on national security. If this is not an issue to the Republicans anymore, an issue which got them in office, then my vote will go elsewhere. Bush's amnesty program with border patrol taking shots at them is not alright with me. This deal on the ports not alright with me either. I am not a republican stooge. Someone should advice him more wisely or perhaps the money is more important to him from this port deal.
"Chuck Schumer is trying to stop the sale of the six ports to UAE."
We can argue about the merits of it, but the ports aren't being sold. Ports can't be sold. They are buying the port operating division of a London-based, British-owned Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co. That purchase will include current contracts that P&O ports has with the various ports listed in the stories on this. There are other port operation companies out there. The port in New York or any of the other ports mentioned could choose to contract with some other company if they do not want DWI, the UAE-based company buying P&O, being responsible for operating terminals in these ports. As we understand it the same employees who work for P&O currently will still be the employees that work there after the purchase goes through.
I don't think there are suddenly going to be Arabs running all over the ports. Anymore so than there already are. Actually because of regulations and unions, more and more of ocean shipping, port operations and terminal operations in America are being run by non-American companies. We can argue about whether that's right or wrong, but let's be accurate about what's really happening here. It's that operations are currently run by a British company being bought out by a company in the UAE. We still have full control over the ports.
Let's not fall into this trap. This is just a cheap trick by Schumer and the Dems. to look like they're to the right of the president on security issues, while undermining him in every other respect on natl. security. It's just an easy bit of positioning for them which involves misrepresenting what's going on. But on real security issues, the Dems. are actively working to undermine the country whether on Iraq, wiretapping of Al Qaeda suspects, Gitmo, etc.
I could have been alarmed about the story; but when I heard Schumer was baiting conservatives, I took a much more critical approach to it.
Did you hear it? Did Mike go ballistic on him?
Thanks again
