Michael Savage is talking to Chuck Schumer at this very minute.
if they get the nerve gas in, they can hedge their port losses by shorting the US stock market in the weeks prior to its release.
Hmm, when ever was that done before? before 9-11 as I recall. and who shorted those stocks? we never found out, did we? who do you think they were?
You are right -- everything will be 100% normal and routine and legit except for the one day or one hour when it isn't, right before our lives change forever.
"The operations at 6 of the ports are being farmed out to a UAE company."
You couldn't be more wrong. The UAE company will have control over the operations of the company they are buying, that's IT, PERIOD!!! Do you think the company they are buying had control over our ports????
Please. Get real people. Take a few minutes to learn about this deal and these companies. I thought there was intelligent life here.
"NO CONTROL OF PORTS WILL BE CHANGING HANDS!"
Well, all-caps hysterics aside, just what service will DWI be providing, then?
RegulatorCountry, they are as bad as the DUMMIES. Name calling anyone who doesn't support their viewpoint, narrow though it might be. Right now, Rick Santorum is on Savage. Honestly, everyone is coming on his show to show their concern, Repubs and Dems.
the Treasury Department has been stonewalled by the emirates, and other Arab countries, in trying to track Osama bin Laden's bank accounts
LOL, anyone who uses the term "checkmate" in an argument is showing what a blow-hard they are, totally bereft of substance. It basically screams "I have nothing of value to say!"
Okay, so the New York Post got it wrong, that paragon of journalistic integrity. Malkin used the New York Post as a source rather than an actual Treasury report. She made the assertion as well citing the Post so she too is wrong. So please show me where the Treasury Department indicates the govt. of the UAE, not some individual bank that has NOTHING to do with the DWI sale (the port operations company) has obstructed them on Al Qaeda's finances. I'll wait...in vain no doubt. Oh, by the way, if you tried to get information on Al Qaeda Swiss bank accounts, you really would get no help. I guess the Swiss are all terrorists too.
So go back to bellowing "checkmate." It might cover up your lack of ability to argue this point with substance and without having to use a tabloid like the New York Post as a source.
1. From a national security standpoint, what exactly do you think could happen in this country with this UAE-owned company operating terminals at a number of ports?
2. What exactly can be accomplished by a terrorist with this UAE-owned company operating a port terminal that cannot be accomplished already today with a Dutch, Danish, British, or American company operating the terminal?
they are getting killed on this issue. you wonder if anyone in the white house communications team ever listens to talk radio, or reads some blogs, or reads FR - to see what people are talking about.
they are getting killed on this stupid issue, when one phone call to Treasury could have ended this story on Wednesday.
"dine, so let them cancel the contracts right NOW for the US ports."
Fine, let the Port Authorties cancel the contracts. I have no dog in that fight. I'm just demanding accuracy. That's their perogative to cancel those contracts if they so chose. But let's be clear the governmental port authorities control the ports, not private companies.
True, but when the putz (Schumer) is right, he's right. He's *rarely* right, of course, and often dead wrong, but giving credit where it's due, he's talking sense this time.
A campaign issue? LOL.
This will be settled soon.
The only one who gives these reports ANY credence at all is Senator Coburn.
Aw, leave em be. Namecalling over the internet is very good therapy for folks who lose argument after argument around the water cooler at work.
", leaving a country with ties to the Sept. 11 hijackers with influence over a maritime industry considered vulnerable to terrorism."
heck that is such a vague statement it could be applied to germany, and if we include residences and banking the US as well.
time to go through siemans out.
