Sen. Hillary Clinton is trying to position herself as a centrist, but her potential rival for the Democratic Presidential nomination, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., apparently believes she's far left.
It's a Hillary thing, Biden says in the upcoming GQ. I look at the assets she brings to bear, and the conventional wisdom. Do I need $40 million, like they're saying? How do I get there? And if the mood of the party is so far left, then possibly that's death for me.
The talkative Biden also psychoanalyzes President Bush: There's a piece of President Bush that's like some of the rich kids I went to school with, the du Pont types in Delaware I grew up around. During the Vietnam War, there were some very establishment kids from Delaware that I went to law school with who went the hippie route. Rebelled against the establishment. I never had a whole lot of respect for them, because they never gave up their inheritance, y'know what I mean?
Biden goes on: Part of (Bush's) persona is his alcoholism. I have alcoholics in my family. They're lucky to have an epiphany, and life begins at that epiphany. I think life began for George W. Bush at age 40.
Always enjoy hearing from the democrat nutters and dim bulbs. Right about the beast though.
....Part of (Bush's) persona is his alcoholism......
Biden is a trash-mouth RAT.
He's gotta bring up that fact that Bush realized he drank too much in his earlier years, to label him as an "alcoholic" for life.
How would he classify the senior Senators of Mass. and Conn.
Biden, get off the stage, your almost as repulsive as "She who must not be named."
What a jerkwad. He has less chance now than he had in 1988.
I wonder whose quote that was that Biden just plagerized. The boy just isn't sharp enough to come to that conclusion on his own. Just look at his "hair" if you don't believe me.
Biden the Plagiarist.
Wonder what Johnny Heinz thinks of that......?
Biden goes on: Part of (Bush's) persona is his alcoholism. I have alcoholics in my family. They're lucky to have an epiphany, and life begins at that epiphany. I think life began for George W. Bush at age 40.
Bush wasn't an alcoholic in any sense of the term. He had an 18 month period where he drank a little too much. As a Time Magazine expose on Bush:
Among Bush's Midland crowd, the favorite mind-altering substances were beer and whiskey. And most people say Bush's consumption was not especially gaudy
Contrary to some reports, Bush made no dramatic breakfast-table declaration about quitting. He said nothing--at first, not even to Laura. It's easy to say, 'I quit,' he says. But this time I meant it. It wasn't until they got home that he told her he was finished with alcohol. He just said, 'I'm going to quit,' and he did, Laura remembers. "That was it. We joked about it later, saying he got the bar bill and that's why."
Part of what prompted him to give it up, a friend says, was that "he didn't want to do anything under the influence that might embarrass his father," who was preparing to run for President. George W. was also experiencing a religious awakening. (How George Got His Groove. June 21, 1999).
Besides, alcoholics rarely if ever quit cold turkey as Bush did. I'm really sick of these liberal Bush basher articles of faith like "Bush is an alcoholic." There's just no basis in reality or Bush's biography to support that. Drinking more than one thinks is wise is not necessarily alcoholism.
Biden is, excuse the bluntness, a smartass with poorly considered attitudes and a dearth of brains. We don't need one of those in the Oval Office.
The blow-hard Biden.
Oh no. Not another one. Senator "Where's a camera" Biden is a girlie man trying to act tough. This is another Kerry looking for an election.
What we should do is send him some Depends at his Washington D.C. office....so he won't wet his bed at night.....
LOL, perfect!
Biden is deep on the left downward slope of bell curve distribution of human intellect. As dim as his lightbulb flickers, he is nonetheless 100% correct about William Clinton's devoted, loving wife.
"He's gotta bring up that fact that Bush realized he drank too much in his earlier years, to label him as an "alcoholic" for life."
Alcoholism is a lifelong condition.
Bush has used the correct treatment, which is to remain entirely abstinent from alcohol, for his lifetime.
I find Biden to be a man with very bad judgement. I see him achieving no purpose, to opine on what makes Bush the person he is.
He talks too much, after thinking too little to be a good president.
BTW, JFK lost at my school in a landslide.
Funny, I remember watching the convention. I HATED Kennedy during the convention. Would really like to know what changed my mind.
Not that Hillary isn't indeed "far left," but Biden's idea that Biden is NOT, is laughable. What's his lifetime ADA score? Who joined her in voting to filibuster, and to reject, Sam Alito? Give me a break.

is biden poor now? Will he leave his money to his grandkids? If so...does he expect them to give up their inheritence? Can you say HYPOcrite?
Please. Biden probably had two sheets to the wind when he said that.
