New York -- For days, the White House news corps has pounded the Bush administration, demanding to learn more about Vice President Dick Cheney's accidental shooting of a hunting companion Saturday.
Cheney finally addressed the incident Wednesday, but the forum in which he chose to do so -- in an exclusive interview with Fox News host Brit Hume -- quickly became another source of contention.

Yeah.....O'Reilly should have gotten the interview! Sour grapes anyone?
Yeah, either him or Helen Thomas.
Bwahahahaha!
Those boneheads in the MSM are just as bad as the socialist liberals up at Univ of Washington. Spoiled little kids.
Mommy, Mommy, why didn't I get the interview? Bwaaaahhhhhh!
The worst quote I read in the article was US Senator Frank (I got back in the Senate by illegal means)"Lout"enberg. Where does he think he gets of weighing in on this?
No self-respecting man would have taken the Senate seat the way he did! He is gagging me.....please!!!!!!! He's freaking 82 too! Make way for new blood in the Senate dude!
The MSM just got outhustled by Fox, and now I guess they are for passing legislation that no news outlet should deserve an exclusive...unless it is theirs!!!!!!!
Bwaaaaaahhhhh! Send them some cheese!
"One of the dumbest posts of the week."
Actually, yours has my vote.
That must have been awfully hard...but I respect y9u for not making a scene of a friend's wedding. Good go!
Make an appointment at his office, then blast him.
Yesterday the WSJ ran an editorial, making fun of the press for the contrived feeding frenzy over the Cheney shooting accident. Today the WSJ ran a Peggy Noonan article on the subject that suggests that Bush will dump Cheney and appoint someone who will be able to run for President in 2008. Since Noonan refers to the potential candidate as "he", we can only assume that she does not consider Condeleeza Rice in that category. Noonan also suggests that this move could cause more problems than solutions for the administration, since it would definitely run into trouble among Senate 2008 hopefuls and their supporters (John McCain and his cabal).
I loved it when Brit said that to the other reporters. LOL!
Well, that certainly clears things up for me.
What the hell? Is there a timeline posted somewhere? Did Dick go to the hospital with his friend Saturday night?
Look... I'm no libby, or troll.. been here, long time. But, these questions are NOT going to go away until someone comes out and stops it. I listened to all of the interview yesterday, and... frankly, I thought it raised more questions than it answered. Did he REALLY wait until Sunday morning to talk the White House? I mean, doesn't he have W on speed dial?
Please note the comments by Victoria Clark, former Pentagon Press agent. This issue has NOT been handled well from public relations standpoint. Right now, no one seems to know much of what happened.
Jeff Greenfield call Cheney a child and said he ran away from his problem. He can go to hell!
NEW YORK -- Like most journalists, CNN morning anchor Jack Cafferty would prefer to cover news than make it.
Especially when it's bad news.
But Tuesday, Cafferty was the story, being met by photographers as he entered a midtown court to plead guilty in a May 14 hit-and-run accident. According to the criminal complaint, Cafferty was made an abrupt turn and hit bicyclist Billy Maldonado.
About five people tried to stop Cafferty by running after the car, according to the complaint, but the newsman continued through at least two red lights, while dragging the bicycle underneath the vehicle. Maldonado, 48, who was knocked to the ground, suffered bruises and some bone damage.
Cafferty was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, assault and harassment. He was allowed to plead guilty to a traffic violation: Operating a motor vehicle knowing or having cause to know property damage had been caused. He was sentenced to 70 hours of community service, with six months to complete it, and a $250 fine. He also made restitution.
Cafferty had no comment Tuesday but the criminal complaint said Cafferty told police he saw the bicyclist get off the ground but didn't realize he had hit him. "I am unaware I was in an accident," he said.
Attorney Suzanne Holzberg, who represents Maldonado, expressed disappointment over the proceedings. "I think he got off pretty easy," she said. Maldonado, she said, still needs an operation on his right elbow.
Wow... that's an interesting angle. How long until the DU folks acuse Rove of masterminding THAT!
Rove: "Hey Mr. Whittington, we need you to take one for the team!"
I TOLD YOU ALL SO ON AN EARLIER THREAD. FOX NEWS IS THE MOUTHPIECE OF THE RIGHT WINGERS AND WILL NOT APPROACH THE CHENEY IMPEACHMENT ISSUE OVER THIS ATTEMPTED MURDER OF A GOP LAWYER.
I sent NBC an email letting them know that Drama Queen Gregory is a fool and an embarassment to their network. I wish thousands of people would write them and call him a DQ. With his ego, it would probably really make him go over the edge...lol
Choosing FOX just made the media even more apoplectic
CLINTON: I think you two will be great together. I'm excited about it.
RATHER: Thank you, Mr. President, thank you.
CLINTON: Bye-bye. Thank you.
RATHER: Mr. President, if we could be one one-hundredth as great as you and Hillary Rodham Clinton have been together in the White House, we'd take it right now and walk away winners.
**The VP should pull a Bill Clinton and say, "This is old news, now. There are lots more important things to cover in the news. I need to get back to the business of this Administration".**
Agree completely!
Go whine to Soros.
You bet. No doubt it will be Soros' billions that will be propping up CNN and the three major networks when they really run in the red after losing most of the country as an audience.
They will probably sell their video to Al J, where terrorist loving muslims will love them.
ROTFLOL! I used to live in Auburn.
PUffballs is too easy a term...
how about them necking with him in the back seat!
