I hate the wording of this poll.
Cheney doesn't answer to the media.
I'm not privvy to all the details of what happened, but it doesn't sound like Cheney "hid" the fact that he wounded somebody from the authorities.

Not that it's particularly relevant, because the local Corpus Christi media was addressed almost immediately. The Washington Press Corps is just crying because they were scooped.

That "I had only one beer hours ago, officer!" excuse has not helped countless DUI people get out of being sent to jail!

I do not know if Mr. Cheney anticipated the outrage of the narcisstic MSM but no matter, the result has been wonderful. The press' fury that they had to hear about the matter from a red-state, local weekly is a thing of beauty to watch. I suggest that unless it is a matter of war or something, the WH should wait at least 3 days or longer to announce and then go through an obscure, unheard of news outlet (or go to Fox) -

The poll question is poorly worded. Even so, it would have been inappropriate to call a press conference. It could have happened a little faster, but jeepers there was and is no need to dance to the press corps' tune.
