If Sen. John McCain runs for president in 2008, fellow Republican Susan Collins of Maine will serve as one of his Senate advisors.
A spokesman for Sen. Collins confirmed that McCain asked her if she would be one of his advisors if he decides to seek the White House. The spokesman, Kevin Kelley, said Collins told McCain that he would.
The Arizona senator is regarded as a likely potential candidate for the Republican nomination.

Slapping myself!!
I, who have been mostly fiercely opposed to this Rhino, noticed a slight softening of my attitude recently.
I needed this.
Count me among those self-destructive types who will stay home rather than vote for the Rhino.

But, but, McCain is a war hero. He's been in a war and knows what it's all about. He'd know what to do.

We need a new term. RINO is not a good description here. These people want to tear the Republican party apart. They are wolves in sheeps clothing.

Seems to me the ones who want tear the Republican Party apart are the ones trying to turn it into a religion with dogma. Accept this or your a heretic and we cast you out. I am so sick of these fanatics. If we loose the next election I WILL blame it on the "our way or the highway" crowd.

Who else would run? Who would watch his back? They would be defenseless against the smear machine.
Especially when we run for the hills, regularly!

Susan Collins is running for Senate re-election in 2008. She should focus on her own campaign and leave the rest of the nation alone.

We all know McCain is running. Question is, will he run as a Republican or an Independent candidate. If he runs as an independent, he could play the spoiler role and hand Hildebeast the White House with less than 45% of vote.
Wonderful..

Frankly, I think we all need to focus on our own states. National media is a diversion at this time. Seriously.

Are you suggesting that we should back him because, otherwise, he might decide to play a third party spoiler role to screw us?
