A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Smiles from our Furry Friends
SMILES
Verse: Dear -ie, now I know just what makes me love you so, Just what holds me and en -folds me in its gold -en glow; Dear -ie, now I see 'tis each smile so bright and free, For life's sad -ness turns to glad -ness when you smile on me;
Chorus: There are smiles that make us hap -py, There are smiles that make us blue; There are smiles that steal a -way the tear -drops As the sun -beams steal a -way the dew; There are smiles that have a ten -der mean -ing That the eyes of love a -lone may see, And the smiles that fill my life with sun -shine Are the smiles that you give to me.
Okay...sing-along time!!! (unless your freeping at work!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are smiles that make us hap -py,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are smiles that make us blue;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are smiles that steal a -way the tear -drops
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the sun -beams steal a -way the dew;
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are smiles that have a ten -der mean -ing
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That the eyes of love a -lone may see,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And the smiles that fill my life with sun -shine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Are the smiles that you give to me.

Nice to see Giz and the boys doing an encore ... thank you, Miss D ... )
I've been leaving cat food in a bowl on my porch to feed one or two of the neighborhood cats ... they sneak up and munch away, then dash ... shy little things.
I think sometimes a skunk comes by to get first dibs on the grub ... shy little stinkers.

I LOVE this picture, meandog! It's amazing how they can train these dogs for the army and the police force, too. It seems like they're almost always German Shepards. Maybe their size, and agility? And their smarts! :)

Can one of you fill skimask in on the background of the viking kitties. I just know they use them for "zots" but that's about it! Thanks

Beautiful cats - the one on the bottom doesn't look like he's having too much fun bringing in the new year though! :)

Oh that is such a sweet picture Lady Jag. We had a sheltie who was such a sweetheart. Is this a generic or someone you know?

Oh, the history of the VK's parallels the history of Zot.
Someone posted a link to the Joel Veitch animation using Led Zepplin's "Immigrant Song" and the Viking Kitties were sorta born.
There was, for awhile, a long standing thread titled The Cult of the Viking Kitties.

That's so sweet. It's also how we ended up with FredtheCat!>br>
I think sometimes a skunk comes by to get first dibs on the grub ... shy little stinkers.
We had an opossum ("Opie") who would raid Fred's food. Ugly think but lots of personality :o)

Thanks, dutchess. You probably had gotten that picture some time ago, too - I just kept going back to it and this morning played with some vignettes and stuff to go with it. :)
I *thought* you had planned to post another thread this morning, but didn't know you had some problems with it. Not a thing wrong with seeing these cuties again though! :)

I love that picture of Jack and Bailey - it's so cute. I think Lori made a pledge graphic with it, didn't you, Lori?

I think she did make a pledge graphic of that. Just checked my folders, and I didn't save it.
BTW, Bailey has grown to the point that he now looks "down" at Jack.
Oh, and he like to dance with Christian as long as Christian leads.

Welcome.
I'm a minor unimportant figure in that history, totally outside of it, I come along 'later on' after the VK's were well settled.
And then there's the 'secondary' group which I helped generate.
