My first dog was a Boston Terrier named Tappy. I was seven. When it was sick I would put it in my bicycle basket and take it to the vet. I didn't know he (or anybody else) got $$$ for treating sick puppies. To this day I don't know if he sent my dad a bill or not. Probaably not; he was in the first graduating vet class at A&M.

Hi, lonestar. What a cute and sweet story. Had to be a small town, right? I wonder if any small towns are still like that - sure would be unheard-of in a city now.

Cute name for your little Boston Terrier. They have the most outgoing personalities. Did you have Tappy for a long time? I think we always had cocker spaniels when I was growing up, and every one of them was named "Lucky". LOL! Truly - I don't ever remember having a dog that wasn't named Lucky!
