sweet, this can only help us win these districts which blue dogs have been keeping from going Red since 1994. Maybe they could run against Max Baucus, David Pryor and those wackjobs in SD and ND too!!!

The grate battle within the dem party. The far left v. the middle. I hope the left wins and it looks like they are. This would make all of them irrelevant.

For an organization named Move-On, this group sure hasn't a clue as to how to do that.

Using the term "highest values" in relation to the goals of "Move On.org" is bullsquat...

Interesting how they've selected the term "Progressive" to redefine radical Socialism......
They can't even be truthful about their aim or name!

They're nuts, and as clearly the enemy within and possible..

"...grappling with specific right-wing Democrats who consistently side with big corporations and right-wing Republicans"

"...MoveOn promises to only endorse those approved by its supporters with a viable chance of winning."

Can't have it both ways, Sorosites.

These bozos are starting to sound like the jihadists. They don't take into consideration the possibility that they just might lose.

But before it gets involved in any nasty Democratic primaries, MoveOn wants to have the OK from its base.

Wonderful, the blind leading the blinder.

Moveon wants to do a purge of the Dem leadership? A la the Communist Party?

I'll kick in a few bucks.

And so it begins.....
The Lib/Dem Civil War has already begun, and we get a ring-side seat to the destruction of a Once-Fine Party....

The REAL JFK must be rolling in his grave over what the Left-Of-Mars crowd has done to the Party.....

The rats decline increases with each day. This has been an disheartening few week for the rats. They couldn't stop Alito, or the Patriot act. The polls have forced them to abandon equal protection for terrorists. They pissed off the base in OH by forcing Hackett out. The DNC has very little money. Some good polls for Lynn Swan. Lott's not going to retire. Our strength for the 06 Senate races is increasing. Great economic reports, and now MoveOn is going after the rats.

This is looking a lot like the 02 election.

This party is a complete scam and liberals are their eternal fools. If MoveOn, Kos and the rest of these other neo-socialist/nihilist freakshow bloggers have in common with the rest of their kind, it's their total ignorance of the fact that the Democratic Party is absolutely ashamed of them.

The insanity that makes up the core in that party must be treated precisely like the insane....Constantly aggitated and distracted.

The party does this quite deliberately, for lack of any coherent, cohesive message to offer. They've rationalized themselves into oblivion. No amount of heart-breaking, crushing political defeats can sober them to this reality. These lunatics have all the passion on their side, while the party calculates carefully and chooses which 'outrage' is the most politically viable to undertake. This party is very aware of this country's preception of their base and they've proven to be too far gone for mass acceptance. This rediculous party can't afford to be true to their own selves, much less the entire nation.

The in-fighting is happening NOW, just as we're only mere months from the heat of the '06 elections....6 years of unconscious, unrelenting resistance and spite of this President has produced NOTHING. This is an undeniably conflicted party that is only now just begining to reckon with itself, just like a death row inmate.

Reminds me of conservatives here who have attacked other right wing conservatives for opposing the Patriot Act.

If it doesn't fit their agenda or coincide with their cheerleading then you are labeled a traitor.

If the districts have elected moderate democrats, they should be good hunting grounds for Republican candidates if/when the democrats reduce support for their own incumbent.

It ain't rocket science.

All Democrats are not created equal, according to MoveOn.org.

It is a shame that few have the ability to use proper grammar.

Dear MoveOn.org,

Would you please start with the two "right-wing" Democrats from Arkansas. They are really ruining the left-wing Democrat Party by "siding with corporations" including Wal-Mart.

Thank you for your help,

Here's the letter from the Supreme MoveOn leader:

Dear MoveOn member,
This year our top goal is breaking the right-wing Republican stranglehold on Congress. That is our main focus every day.

It is also part of our work together to hold Democrats to their Party's highest values on issues like foreign policy, economic prosperity and good government.

That sometimes means grappling with specific right-wing Democrats who consistently side with big corporations and right-wing Republicans.

One approach is to support progressive primary challengers to right-wing Democrats. We think this makes sense but it's a big decision so we wanted to check with you and other MoveOn members. What do you think? Click below to let us know.

The story about "the Democrat who sold out" has become too familiar. Too often progressives tip toe around these betrayals. But there needs to be real consequences for these Democrats.

Replacing a right-wing Democrat with a more progressive Democrat will help voters more clearly understand what Democrats stand for—and that will help Democrats win.

Many of these conservative Democrats we would challenge represent states or districts that are heavily Democratic—so we're not imperiling a Democratic majority by doing this.

Why is this a big decision? At some level it isn't—we've consistently held Democrats feet to the fire on a long list of issues. But challenging right-wing Democrats in an electoral setting would be new for MoveOn.org Political Action. That is why we're asking for your feedback. Click below to let us know what you think.

Who are the Democrats we would challenge? One example is Congressman Henry Cuellar in Texas. Cuellar is a right-wing Democrat infamous for supporting the Bush agenda and Republican legislation.

He is wrong on many core Democratic issues like the war and Medicare, he often undermines key Democratic initiatives and too often pokes progressives in the eye with his votes and statements. (More on Cuellar tomorrow.)

We would start with the worst like Cuellar and work to build a progressive majority one election at a time.

A Democratic majority will be a big step towards progressive reform. But at the same time we have to work to build a progressive majority that will work towards bold reforms.

Please help by giving us feedback on this decision.

Thanks for all you do.

–Tom, Jennifer, Rosalyn, Justin and the MoveOn.org Political Action Team
Tuesday, February 14th, 2006

P.S. Here are some key practices we'll follow:

Member endorsement. MoveOn.org Political Action only endorses candidates with the consent of MoveOn members in the state or district—surveying them before an endorsement. If members are split, we won't endorse.

Viable candidates. We don't want to waste your money—so we work hard to pick candidates who have a real shot at winning.

A progressive majority. We believe that all Democrats are not the same—and we work to elect progressive members of Congress when we can.
Support our member-driven organization: MoveOn.org Political Action is entirely funded by our 3.3 million members. We have no corporate contributors, no foundation grants, no money from unions. Our tiny staff ensures that small contributions go a long way. If you'd like to support our work, you can give now at:

PAID FOR BY MOVEON.ORG POLITICAL ACTION,
Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
