The MSM is incompetent. They don't understand privacy laws at all. They wanted Scott to be the first to report the heart attack at the press breifing.
They don't understand how a hospital works or privacy laws for a patient.
Damn the whitehouse for not highlighting the incompetence over the MSM over this.
David Gregory would have blamed the white house for breaking privacy laws if Scott had been the first to release this.
But since he didn't release it they are blaming him for this too.
Would you like it if a white house press secretary reported someone in your family had a heart attack before your family knew.
Same with the accident. You inform the whole family first instead of that fruitcake david gregory.
The MSM left wing east coast elite vultures need to be taken down.
The left wing bias is now 4 to 1 in the media at least according to recent studies. This is undemocratic.
Al Gore gets no attention speaking in saudi arabia about the abuses of america.
The whole thing is a made up hissy fit drumed up in revenge because the White House Bitch Squad got scooped by some weekend College intern at nowhere paper in flyover land.
Very well stated and exactly what would have happened IMHO if McClellan had released this info.
The victim's family was upset about the doctor having a press conference does the media really believe they wanted the white house press spokesperson to release it.
The victim is not under control of the white house he is a private citizen.
Cheney on saturday night was telling the ranch owner and victim's family to make sure everyone knows first.
He knows what vultures these commies are. The media is already digging into armstrong's past.
Precisely. I am a Pastor, and under the new Federal privacy laws that were enacted during the Clinton years. Hospitals will not even give me a room number in some cases unless the patient of family allows them too. So the same Press who are all over this administration about "privacy" now want the Press Secretary to give private medical information to the Piranna feeding frenzy of the White House Press corp. They should be ashamed of themselves for this double standard.
Doesn't the patient/family have to give permission to doctors to release info in a press conference?
I am confused about the "heart attack." From what I gather this was not a heart attack but rather a small area of necrosis (death of tissue) from the bird shot. If one has trauma to his muscles, the enzymes from muscle will rise. I suspect this is what happened and the tests were drawn because the patient went into atrial fibrillation. Most physicians I have seen on TV today imply the bird shot is lodged in his ventricle, most probably the left as it is anterior to the right venticle. Now there is nothing that the ventricle can do to cause atrial fibrillation! As the name implies atrial fibrillation means the atria are fibrillating. Therefore, the bird shot must be lodged in his atrium and this cannot be life threatening. I am not a cardiologist but the docs blathering about this on TV need to think before they talk.
The answer to the question is yes. Docs cannot release any info if the patient does not agree. This is what the HIPPA laws are about!
Right. And they have not seen the "charts" the EKG readouts or know anything of the history of this 78 year old patient. But there they are blathering away.
I have this strange dream where talking heads from something like say the NSA security story get crossed with the talking heads from say this hunting accident. The crux is. Both stories are interchangeable. The NSA is Dems complaining about privacy. And this one is a person's medical privacy being invaded by press for their own self inflated egos?
thats exactly what I was screaming all day at the TV..HIPAA!!!!!!!
It was not necrosis.. it was inflammation and it caused the Atrial Fibrillation. Not a heart attack.
This analysis is entirely correct, and anyone who has been in a hospital, a doc's office, or a pharmacy knows the lengths they are now required to go to to protect confidential medical information.
And yet, I have not heard this aspect of this "story" reported anywhere.
