Hi! I'm The Sailor and MoJo's youngest son. My nickname at home is *Tibby*. You've probably seen my older brother, hotstreak, before. I'm 6 years old and currently in First Grade.
See the big guy pictured above? Do you know him who he is? If you like the NBA, you'll know it's Shaquille O'Neal.
He, hotstreak, and myself are part of a special community. We're proudly known as *military brats*. His father was in the Army while our Dad is in the Navy. Military brat is an informal term for a child who has one or more parents who serves or served full-time in the military. It implies that such an upbringing is different in important ways from that experienced by those in the community at large, and can be an insult or a compliment, depending on the context. Although brat is usually taken to mean a spoiled child, military brats are usually considered more disciplined than their stateside peers.
Click here for a neat story about him and one of our heroes. Other famous *Military Brats* Johnny Damon Kathy Lee Gifford Mia Hamm Crystal Kay Kris Kristofferson Martin Lawrence Shawn Michaels Jim Morrison Nelly Priscilla Presley Jeri Ryan Blair Underwood Norman Schwarzkopf, Jr. Lionel Richie Victoria Principal Mary-Louise Parker Mitch Pleggi Hunter "Patch" Adams Christina Aguilara Jessica Alba Leslie M. Do you still keep in touch with those friends? Thank you to all of our Troops, Veterans, and family members. Thank you to our fellow military brats! We're everywhere!! |

WORDS TO LIVE BY
Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it. Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker. Eat a live toad in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day. If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague. If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it. It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others. Never buy a car you can't push. Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you don't have a leg to stand on. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. The early worm gets eaten by the bird, so sleep late. When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane. Birthdays are good for you; the more you have, the longer you live. You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person. Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once. Don't cry because it's over; smile because it happened. We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors but they all have to learn to live in the same box. A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour. Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open. Have an awesome day, and know that someone has thought about you today.... |

From: Another Military Brat!
Are you a military brat?
Yes, and I'm proud of that. My experiences growing up shaped me and (IMHO) made me a better person.
Where have you lived?
Hmmm....as a Military Brat? England, Italy, and North Africa. California, Mississippi, and Ohio.
Did you go to school overseas?
Yes, I did! I went to the second and third grades in Libya at Wheelus AFB. I learned to speak a little bit of Russian and Arabic in my third grade class, I learned to drink goat's milk, and I saw how women were treated as second-class people when we visited a Libyan family for dinner. I also captured the biggest black scorpion I have ever seen, even to this day, and took it in for show and tell!
Do you still keep in touch with those friends?
Unfortunately, no. We moved away from Air Force bases, and we lost contact with any of the families that we knew. Part of that was due to the fact that I had attended 12 different schools by the time I graduated from High School!

Atlanta Falcons linebacker Keith Brookings (center) and Carolina Panthers head coach Jon Fox (left) sign autographs for sailors aboard guided-missile cruiser Port Royal (CG 73) during a visit to the ship at Pearl Harbor Naval Complex, Hawaii, on Thursday. Brookings and Fox were in Hawaii for the NFLs Pro Bowl, played Sunday at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu. The NFCs team of all stars prevailed over the AFC, 23-17.

The trial of Sadaam Hussein continues, but who cares?
Pakistani people ride past burning shops set on fire by angry mobs during a demonstration in Lahore. Two demonstrators were shot dead as angry mobs attacked Western fast food outlets as Pakistan suffered its most violent protests yet against the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.
Meanwhile, back on the Ayatollah ranches....political profit is gained as seen from the eyes of Neandertal throwbacks calling themselves Imams, in Pakistan, Iran, and Syria.
Former Irqi President Saddam Hussein addresses the court during his trial Tuesday Feb. 14, 2006, in Baghdad, Iraq. Saddam and his seven co-defendants are on trial in the killing of nearly 150 Shiite Muslims in Dujail.
Saddam initiated his own filibuster today in his Baghdad trial, but the Judges were easily able to invoke the Iraqi version of the "nuclear option" and the former president learned how to spell the word "slammed."
