I just heard from a local radio reporter (during Rush newsbreak at approximately 1:00 p.m) that Whittington "may have taken a turn for the worse," and was put back into intensive care.

Yes, I too would like to know if the doctor(s) are agitated or downright angry with the media, and why.

What idiots. If Cheney was with this man while hunting (and obviously that was the case) there is always a White House doctor with him and the president wherever they go.

It's a given they are hoping that Mr. Whittington dies.
If the press had a LICK of sense, they'd question why THEIR poll ratings are in the toilet and that people's trust of the press is at an all time low.

Holy smokes, pray hard for Whittington and Cheney.
Cheney is a man with fragile health, and I am sure the anxiety is not good for him. I admire Cheney so much, and wish I could comfort him.
I'm sure the MSM is soon to cause me extreme anxiety, and ANGER.
Just heard (as I'm typing this)a reporter ask "What kind of life is he (Whittington) going to have after he leaves the hospital? From now on, every time Whittington has a cough it will be Cheney's fault GRRRRRR.
Some reporter whined "BUT what about a chance for infection." The doctor was visiably mad when he replied.

(AP) WASHINGTON The man shot by Vice President Dick Cheney has shown signs of having suffered a heart attack due to his wounded, medical doctors said Tuesday. The doctors at the hospital in Corpus Christi say they've been consulting with White House doctors about Harry Whittington's treatment. The report said the victim, prominent Republican attorney Whittington of Austin, was retrieving a downed bird and stepped out of the hunting line he was sharing with Cheney. "Another covey was flushed and Cheney swung on a bird and fired, striking Whittington in the face, neck and chest at approximately 30 yards," the report said.
Can these people write?

How did it move to the heart if it didn't get inside the heart chamber? It sounds as if it slightly penetrated the heart wall, but that contradicts the statement that it moved. Here's what I picked up, fwiw. The exact location of the shot cannot be determined with available technology because it is metal and gives off a star or halo effect in the pics. The doctor's best guess is that it is touching the heart muscle or has penetrated it slightly. This caused inflamation which resulted in the event.

It's as if the media was ACCUSING the doctors of not giving the complete picture, the tone was beginning to sound similar to the way the media was behaving with Scott McClellan at news conference.
To: Carolinamom
"I am concerned that even the docs are using the term "BB"...BB shots are MUCH larger than birdshot."
Probably just unfamiliarity with shotgun terminology. There has been a lot of that. I wouldn't pick nits too seriously...there's going to be a lot of misinformation.
If they were hunting quail, they wouldn't have been using BB shot.

Both Cheney AND Whittington would have had heart attacks, dealing with these presstitutes.

That's what it sounds like to me, also, except that it doesn't explain the "moved" comment. A pellet wouldn't just start migrating through tissues and membranes a couple days after the fact.
To: babaloo
Furious at the tone of the questions. The one that broke the doctor's back, so to speak, was a rather pressing question about infection. The questioner seemed almost to be gloating. The dr. had answered the heart answers very expertly, so the questioners turned to another topic and turned up the anxiety. Just inexcusable.

I don't recall seeing press conferences referred to as "pressers" before late last year. Does anyone know the origin of this term? I don't know its origin. I'm a former newspaper reporter and never heard it used during my tenure at the paper.
